Deadset couldn't believe it when I woke up this morning.

I didn't actually place a bet on Contador btw just went for the top 3 finish with the other 2.

Well, not a jinx then! Riblon actually finished 2nd out of all the breakaway riders but as I suspected that break failed. Contador would have won had he not crashed IMO.

Rest day today on the tour. Open Championship starts this week though and I'm quite keen on Henrik Stenson. 3x Top 3 finishes in the Open and 6 Top 7 finishes in his last 5 starts this year. Will go very close IMO. $17 generally available.

Main bets for today's Tour stage are Greg Van Avermaet ($31), Michael Rogers ($41) and Tom Jelte Slagter ($51). Best 3 figure priced bet for me is Julien Simon ($100). Break is likely though not guaranteed to succeed.

If it matters at all, Michael Rogers is an Australian.

Yeah he's been backed in. I basically bet everywhere. At time of posting it was Lux that has the price but I actually took a bigger price yesterday at laddies.

Actually don't think I'd back Rogers at current odds. At current odds I'd rather plump for a longer odds selection like Jose Joaquin Rojas Gil ($85).

Yeah I like Rogers over the mountains, the next few stages will be great, especially the big climbs.

Available to back at 100 now on the exchange. To be honest, if you are betting on cycling winners, you have to use the exchange 90% of the time. For longer shots the odds are between 50%-400% better.

Rogers in the mini escape that the winner came from but never attacked. Rojas and Van Avermaet there abouts at the end but honestly never a stage where I looked like winning.

Don't normally get involved in the pure sprint stages and it's a bit speculative, but don't mind the each way value of Arnaud Demare tomorrow. Can currently get $81 with 365.

Main focus to be on the golf though, where Stenson $17 looks a great chance and Ilonen $90 a tasty outsider.

But...but.....Tiger Woods has said anything other than a win is unacceptable for him lol.

I'm all over Stenson though. Probably throw a little something on Scott as well though.

It's just a passion for the most part but I do take the Tour de France very seriously. I generally have a sizable edge in it and were it a 52 week long event, or if cycling had liquidity outside of it, maybe it could be more in depth, but alas, neither of those things are going to happen.

You'll tend to find I'm very streaky. I had a $340 winner back in February and literally duck eggs ever since then until the Tour starter. I'll look like a genius 5 weeks out of the year and a mug the other 47!

Tournament ends early Monday our time. I've actually saved on Adam Scott myself. Hard to split he and Henrik but only want to back one guy at odds <$20 and for mine Stenson had more appeal.

Honestly, I wouldn't expect Tiger to be there at all. He's played like 2 competitive rounds of golf in as many months.

Watch out too for the young amateur Bradley Neil. I've had a small bit of him for 1st Round leader (e/w @ $501) and Top 20 overall ($34). You normally want to stay well away from amateurs against the pros but the Open has a bit of a history with amateurs doing well. Tom Lewis as an amateur led in the first round a few years ago and in the past 9 Opens, 4 times an amateur finished in the Top 20. Neil is by far and away the most talented amateur and plays links courses all year long, so will have some sort of an advantage to negate the fact he's not played at this level before.

Not expecting Tiger to do much either, thought I'd throw 5 on him to place though. Hopefully I'll jinx him lol. I'm hoping for Stenson to get up as he's who I put the most money on.
