Billy, Billy, Billy, Billy... Oi Oi Oi

It shits me that K only got 10 mins on the field what a waste IMO. Sticky should have just played an extra forward if he wasn't going to sue HUNT. Trust QLDER to try and tell us that it wasn't Slater's fault hahah suck on that QLDER...

Lockyer was brilliant and was everywhere last night. But playing devil's advocate, he did fumble that grubber and miss the tackle for Hohaia's try.

No doubt Slater dropped the World Cup. He doesn't run toward the sideline out of his in goal (who does that? I have only ever seen that done a handful of times, even through junior footy. It's an elementry error, which IMHO came about from our back 3 having this ridiculous belief that they are quicker than what they are. A fullback/winger always runs in-field on the return to give options on the ensuing rucks out [eusa_doh ), we are back up in the attack. Turning point.

All bias aside, Slater is brilliant in broken play and has started to develop quite a decent passing game (despite what the usual LOLZ-prits on here will try and tell us), however he has that 1% moron element, where every now and then he will try to play above his skill level.

Despite what the usual knockers will say (the usual Bronco-eyed LOLZ-prits); Slater is still the firstchoice fullback in Australia. If you don't believe that then I wouldn't want you selecting my side. Safe and dependable must always give way to attack, when you are looking for a fullback.

Meninga's got the balance right at Origin level. Hunt to start at the back, do the all tough stuff and then let Slater capitalise when the team's on the front foot. [icon_wink

I have agreed with this all year ethos. That said, all year I have asked, even in SoO, why we can't have both Hunt/Slater on fullback/wing, interchanging ala Hodges/Hunt GF 06.

Yep Slater still is first choice fullback and will be next season until the pressure mounts and he does the unthinkable... As good as Slater is he still can't handle the Pressure like the truly great fullbacks have, Lockyer, KHUNT lolzz

The Moral of the story is....... running sideways isn't the way to go.......

Very true Beads. Maybe we need some people in the Aussie team hitting the line/running at the created overlaps, instead of sitting 4 metres back, on their haunches. Then these sideways runners will have someone to pass to...

That play was the mother of all fukc ups. Usain Bolt couldn't have made it past Manu Vatevie in that short bit of space. It was a stupid play and as Hammo and others have stated comes from this crazy belief that just because we've dominated, Slater & Williams, to a lesser extent Tate and Monahagn think they are superman quick. It was a stupid play and if he didn't do that we would have won simple as that. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas, but that play was utter stupidity under 7's shit. I hope Slater feels like shit today because he fucked it up massive. But it's a team game and a few others didn't step up to the plate either, what can ya do?

Jester, Slater feels like shit! How do I know? In his post match speech, he said; "We made a few errors tonight, but I'm sure we will get over it"

LOLZ...YOU made the errors Billy, so you build the bridge, because we won't for awhile.

I think Steve Waugh will probably give Slater a call today.

We lost by 14 lol. Hardly billy fault. Also, didnt slater set up 2 tries? yes, he did. more good than bad.

why arent you blaming lockyer? he dropped the ball over the line.

Bullshit Queenslander. It was 18-16 when Slater did his brain explosion. If he'd played it safe, got the ball into the Kiwi half during the set Australia would've been attacking. Instead, down 22-16 and full on playing catch up football.

And it wasn't his only **** up. He fumbled a kick on a return, he bombed a couple of tries by going himself or throwing wild crap passes a la Origin this year. He's an overrated piece of shit and totally showed how out of place he is at the highest level.

Lockyer was man of the match in a losing side. He was absolutely brilliant and Slater owes him the biggest **** apology for ruining Locky's dream of captaining a world cup win. Monaghan too to a lesser extent.

Also, if Harmichael had played Australia would have won by 32+ icon_thumbs_u

Both Slater and Hunt will win you a lot of matches. Biggest difference IMO is that Hunt won't lose you a match, whereas I am always on edge that Slater will do something that will. And yep there were other mistakes that added to the extent of the loss but Slater's brain explosion is the point at which the momentum shifted, the game changed and the kiwis got on top - therefore yes Slater threw away the World Cup. But hey - that's sport.

No doubt he was man of the match, but if he grounds that ball properly, there was going to be no way back for the Kiwis from 16-0 down.

That was another video ref retard moment. He maintained contact with the ball all the way. Should have been ruled a try, it's been the rule all year. Give him that, and take away their 1st half try from the knock-on and the BS penalty try (Billy would still have cleaned that up) and the score looks a lot different. A different result in fact.

Lol, its easy to blame slater isnt it, u pathetic bunch. how about blaming the ppl that let in the tries lol

if he was wearing a broncos jersey youd all be rubbing one off over him

OK, how about his pathetic attempt to stop Jeremy Smith for the Kiwis' first try?

He was shit last night mate, you can't deny it.
