Exactly, people here think anyone in a Broncos jersey is the best and that no one could possibly be better than them. Slater is better than Hunt at many things and as good as him at just about everything else.

Slater is definitely better than KHUNT at dropping the world cup!!!!

Jeb, you seem to think because people like me and QLD'er have the ability to acknowledge the quality of players beyond the confines of Red Hill makes us traitors or supporters not to the same degree as you. You are wrong, it makes us better supporters, people who can see how good an opponent is and don't just pander to our own players regardless of the fact that our team was not good enough this year are good supporters. We keep a balance and don't go on with bulls##t about how great they all are and how they are all the best when in fact they are not we have the best 5/8th (in attack only) and maybe the best centre in the game outside of that the team is full of good players some better than others. I will never give out praise for the sake of praise just because a guy is in a Broncos jersey.

I just hate the arrogance of fans like you more than anything. Just because someone has an opinion, you always have to put them down because they throw their support towards the Broncos. No matter what the argument is. You might think you're better supporters, but you're like the fans I HATE sitting next to at the footy. The ones who keep saying "Lockyer can't tackle" or "The ref is helping the Broncos" or "Boyd is shit". The ones that just continually bag out the team they are supposed to be fans of.

Of course, you are allowed to have an opinion, and your opinions are often valid, but unfortunately with you don't seem to be able to present your opinions without complete arrogance and without your hand on it. You don't see us who make our arguments to support the Broncos just continually putting labels on you do you?

You're no better Broncos supporter than anyone on this forum. Get your hand off it.

Season 2008
Hunt: Try Assists 12, Line break assists 11
Slater: Try Assists 14, Line break Assists 14

But Slater can't pass...........

Wasn't Hunt injured for a few games? I'm certain had the Broncos completely dominated the competition in 2008 like the Storm did Hunts stats would be far more impressive than Billy the cats!!

Beads, the point is Slater is at least the equal to Hunt at passing the football these stats (regardless if there was a bit of a games played differential) are an example of this fact.

Jeb, I don't think call the players shit I just call a spade a spade IMO. I don't tell people they are wrong for having another opinion. I may say that the vast majority of people disagree with someones assessment of a player, which I feel is a reasonable viewpoint to take. I am the sort of fan who praises the players/team/staff when they warrant and the sort of fan who will criticize the players/team/staff when it is warranted. I don't think I am a bigger or smaller fan than anyone else I just have the opinion that anyone who cannot see a spade as a spade regardless of what colours they are wearing makes themselves look foolish both as a supporter of their team and of whatever sport they follow. It is also funny that you give warnings to people about crossing the line recently yet unprovoked you imply I "have my hand on it", why don't you heed your own warnings hypocrite before you make yourself look like a f##kwit........oops to late.

I don't thin Slater can throw a cut-out pass. Slater's assists are generally attributed getting outside his man and creating an overlap.

Yeah, and drawing and passing after making the break. Bah!

Put in a complaint to the admin team then sunshine.

Sorry, but it looks to me that everytime you criticise someone it is because you don't want to be looked on as a bias Broncos supporter. I've had that view for a long time now and nothing has made me think otherwise.

I wouldn't switch Hunt for any other fullback in the league. He suits the Broncos' game perfectly and his ability to either score or set up a try from a second man play (our main attacking thing) is better than any other fullback.

Slater is different style of fullback, more of a support player, which suits Melbourne's tactics of going up the middle.

Overall, Slater probably has more strings to his bow but in terms of the Broncos gameplan, Hunt's the best fit.

I am not a biased Broncos supporter, I am able to watch the game without pre-judging the teams or players involved. I criticize because I can see something I deem worth criticizing, not to make myself look less biased. Why would I put in a complaint.

1. Your an admin.
2. I was just pointing out your a hypocrite.
3. You might just delete my post/thread.

I don't think I could sum it up any better than that. If I wanted a fullback that excels in broken play, and hovering around the ruck I would go with Slater or Bowen. At the same time, if I wanted a fullback for more of a play making role, or second man plays I would go for Hunt or Gidley. They are very difficult to compare because they have a very different style of game. As Ethos said, Hunt would be a much better fit in a Broncos-style attack, just as Slater is to a Storm attack.

You've every right to complain, admins aren't above the rules and if one of us steps out of line in your opinion, they can be banned if its warranted. Admins have been banned/warned before. Besides - the situation I was referring to in that warning thread was vastly different to this one.

See what Ethos and Clintos have said? Numerous posters in this thread have posted something along those lines and you won't even acknowledge that as a valid argument as to why we would prefer Karmichael Hunt playing at the Broncos.

But Jeb, the initial arguement wasn't over which fullback suit Broncos style of play. It was which fullback is better.

This whole thread is LOLZ. Slater clearly had a more successful 2008, but next season it may very well be another fullback (Bowen, Gidley, Hunt).

To MB and Queenslander; I spent many months trying to get BHQ posters to at least acknowledge the superior skill sets of other (Storm) players. It won't happen on a Broncos forum. Move on with the knowledge that 90% of the RL watching community agrees with Slater over Hunt in 2008.

"I rolled the dice - and lost" - Billy Slater

In round one this year, I did get past him in exactly the same position on the field," the Melbourne flyer, named player of the tournament not long after his mistake, told the Herald . "It's just the way I play. If I see an opportunity, I'm going to have a crack at it more times than not.

1. Of course Slater had a better 2008 than Hunt. Absolutely without question, regardless of how bad he f**ked up in the test match.

2. I don't honestly think you could speak down to people who think that Hunt is a better fullback than Slater. They are two players who have COMPLETELY different styles, and then there's also the fact that people judge "best" in their own ways. For some, the best might mean the best to watch, electrifying with the ball but prone to brain snaps. Hell, a lot of people think Manu Vatuvei is the best winger in the competition because of how he goes when he's on fire, regardless of the knock-ons and defensive lapses on his bad days.

I can not and will not name the best fullback in the comp, because there are many that are right up there with their own strengths. I'll say one thing, though. Hunt, in his four-ish years of playing at the top level has probably only been considered the best fullback in one of those. However, in the other three, there has been three different players. Bowen was all the rage for a while there. So was Brett Stewart. So was/is Billy Slater. Why do I have so much time and admiration for Hunt as a footballer? He's always up there, week-in, week-out.

Well, it IS a Broncos Fan Forum - what else would you expect? Why I don't get is the people on here who hate the Broncos so much and want to bag everything they do. It's a weird type of person IMO who would want to join essentially the fan club of someone/something they hate so much. I'm not saying this is you MB and also not saying everyone here has to love the Broncos - different opinions are what make this place great. But there are definitely some people on here who need to take their 100% anti-broncos glasses off, same why some people do have to take their "broncos can do no wrong" glasses off.
