Some people on this forum are just so desperate for their opinion to be proven right, they can't ever fully admit to being wrong. There's always a shifting of the goalposts.

Imagine how insufferable they'd be now if they'd got on board the Billy train when he arrived, though...
What shifting of the goalposts? He sucked for 4 years, this year he didn't.

I really hope Kev stays around the club. He is an absolute legend of the club and while he didn't have a long tenure as head coach he still got us to within reach of a GF. The bloke is so likeable and I hope the coaching stint hasn't damaged the relationship beyond repair. The Broncos are better with Kev than without (just not as head coach at this point in his coaching career, or maybe ever).

From everything he says, he certainly looks like he still loves the club.

Kev took the club from an absolute shit show to what the currently are. I still believe Madge was a tough call that had to happen but if by some miracle we win it all this year - Kev should be thanked for his contributions.

he did an amazing job as a Rookie Coach given rebuilding a club is probably one of the hardest jobs, it did seem like he struggled when it came to transitioning from the rebuild stage to maintaining an elite side with the results to match each season, but it can't be undersold in his work to bring Reyno to the club and get Reece back which are the type of quality of players you need to progress from what could be a top 8 team to one that can actually compete for the GF.

Trigger warning: Kevvie's BILLY AGENDA exposed.

Billy was very average at 6 under Kev and it makes sense why he would say that because at the time it was the case, but under Madge he basically threatens Mams position at 6, it's honestly impressive how good he was this year.

I think his problem was he was unwilling to drop underperformers, and also we got smashed by injuries that year on top of a form slump.

Madge did something different: he created a position (out of necessity) that suited Billy, with the 6 roles that weren't his forte, delegated to Walsh.

It's almost the opposite role to Ezra, whose strengths and weaknesses are pretty much the opposite of Billy's. Ezra isn't so good at just playing the link in the chain.
