That will depend on if they can fill their roster in time(that said 900k is ridiculous imo), it's nearly approaching mid season and they haven't made a huge spine signing yet the longer this goes on the less bargaining power they have and more desperate they will have to be.

Remember due to the RLPA they HAVE to spend the vast majority of their cap and if players they want are not available they will be forced to overspend on others.

If you wanted to write about the desire of clubs to contract Cobbo who else would you quote?

He's quoted his current club's coach and football manager and his manager- don't really see a lot of other options.

Coates is incredibly inconsistent and limited but physically, the attributes are there, he will take longer than Cobbo and likely won’t reach the same heights but that try saver last night was also pretty special.

What is frustrating is clubs are lining up for Cobbo, but Paps signs an extension with the storm for something like 700k without any fanfare in the media or a whisper of interest from other clubs etc.

The biggest takeaway from all this for me is the huge publicity both the Broncos and Cobbo gets during his extension talks and if he keeps playing the way he is playing he will have a thousand kids just like him growing up wanting to be a Bronco. The kid isan absolute Godsend.

I'm watching Coates as i write this and thinking thank god the goofy kid jumped ship. For the Storm's short kick out it was an instance where he needed to to come off his wing and win the ball and he simply lumbered over and Gilbert ends up catching it and scoring.

One thing to call them out for trying to get clicks through discrediting character (eg Patty’s beer, Payne’s push etc) but I really don’t see the problem people have with contract speculation. That’s what’s 70% of discussion on here is based around.

It really doesn't because you're not going to read 30 values and add them up to equal 9 million. There are discounts and lots of things in play to your cap, other clubs paying players.

People are just going to read 600K and blow up saying why's he on 600k when they don't know he gets 100k from Adidas and 50k from Tourism Queensland and 50k from Triple M and that's why he took 600k from Cowboys.

Obviously, I hope you are right because I want him at the Broncs forever but Bennett has shown a tendency to overspend on big name players and Cobbo has very wuickly become a big name player.

But why would a 19 year old kid go to a club that’s gonna lose for the rest of time to get a year or 2 under Wayne. The Wayne factor isn’t working cause you don’t get Wayne for very long. For mine Money ain’t gonna do shit for him and he knows that. He has to be in a good system and realistically apart from the Chooks anyone who is offering him a deal isn’t a great system. Chooks don’t really have the money or the Fullback position to give to Selwyn as Sualli is the heir to Tedesco’s throne there and would leave the second he isn’t.
