Whilst I wouldn't want to take this thread to another topic, he was a chief proponent of the Spanish American war that lead to the annexation of Cuba (supposedly on humanitarian grounds for the Cuban people's liberty), which led to the country becoming a holdout for corrupt American businessmen and led to the rise of Castro. As a result of the war, the Americans also claimed the Philippines from Spain that had gallantly fought and succeeded in freeing itself from colonial rule from only to be put through a bloody war with the US to crush their independence that resulted in the use of torture and the deaths of some 600,000 Filipinos.
It was criticized by Mark Twain among others as counter to American ideals of liberty.
Whilst I can't deny his many accomplishments and admire his willingness to push progressive ideas, if the Spanish American war was fought today it's proponents would be war criminals.
You can argue the Americans were better colonial masters than the Spanish and I wouldn't disagree but the war to achieve it cannot be justified by that.

If eels were to top score, and they finished the year losing just one round later after we did, we did extremely well getting there WITHOUT having this in our arsenal.

From what I "think" I can see, Staggs is 4th in centres (below Perese), Macca is 2nd in hookers with Paix 3rd... TPJ might be 4th on the edge?

Another article out today saying that Arthars is firming as a contender for fullback. Apparently putting pressure on Isaako. I couldn't read the article due to a pay wall.

I think he'd go well there. I wish the backline wasn't jammed up with players like Boyd and Bird so that he could get a spot in the centres or on the wing. Looks like there's no room though.

Exactly, and Arthars wouldn't have walked away from a guaranteed starting spot into a benchwarmer position, unless his agent is a hack.

To be honest, I'd probably rather we have one fullback who was so far and away ahead of the pack that the coach had no choice but to pick him.

As a matter of fact, if you really wanted to get psycho detective about it, you could imitate the names and subsequent label sizes in MSPaint then compare it to the board.

Fluff piece. From everything I've seen / read, including the interview today on the Broncos website says he's been training at centre and wing. I don't believe he has trained at fullback at all. He even said his goal is to debut for Broncos sometime this year. He knows he's behind a couple people and will likely need some injuries to get a look in.

I do like his attitude though, but I'd say the plan is for Isaako to be fullback and if he hasn't really secure the pot by June 31st, then Niu will get a shot.
