OPINION Broncos are winning the 2023 NRL Premiership

I disagree, the byes and the 2 free points simply distorts the ladder no matter how you look at it.

The L column is no more important than the W column really, and you just have to read the table carefully and with a bit of nuance. Just look at Manly with 4 wins and a draw, sitting 2 spots higher than the Rabbits who have 5 wins. It's just distorted.

Yes we are only 2 losses less than the Rorters, but we have 3 more wins than they do. When we get the bye and they play, maybe they win maybe they don't, but we definitely get the 2 points that week, so it's not accurate to say 1 column is more important than the other.

But regardless of which way you jump or how you interpret it, it's still very fair to say it's a bloody tight competition, and it won't take much for a lower team to make a surge, or a high team to quickly fall.
Agree with you and if the ladder stays tight then fore and against really come into play…yes the bye is 2 points for nothing but if your close competitors play easy beats that same round they can go past you if rattling up a big score..having said that the Origin period should loosen the field somewhat..but the big kicker is suspensions and sin bins ..just so hard these days to defend with 12 men and you hold your breath just about on every tackle which also seems to get a slow motion analysis over and over.until they find some thing to penalise…totally ruining the game.

Tonight is just a blip. We are still winning it.
Well it was a big “ blip” totally blown off the park in second half…stuck in own quarter with one off hit ups and gang tackled backwards. Our forwards were no match and the backs got through a heap on defence and ran out of gas ..properly bombed 2 try’s which may have altered things somewhat. Anyway makes next game a huge one in terms of where we really are…think the boys will rally and stick it to em

Just a blip. Normal service will be resumed next week.

We won't be winning the premiership as long as we're losing games because the NRL suspend our best players over a bullshit crackdown that will be all but forgotten by the end of the season. it's fucking media fodder. Name one episode of NRL 360 that hasn't had a screaming match about the hip drop for 20 minutes in the past 5 weeks.

Yes I'm salty about it. It cost us 2 valuable competition points over something that won't matter worth shit in a few months.

And derailed our season last year when they took Patty out for weeks to, in their own words, 'set an example' - yet ignored others that same week and the weeks after. At least they're being consistent this year but **** me, the game is getting hard to watch.

If we lose next week, there's likely to be four teams tied at 14 points at top of the table. We'll lose top place due to differential.

Could drop even lower depending on how the others score points..

Told ya we wouldn't lose to Manly. This is so our year!

Regardless of this result, next week has always been the challenge looming large.

1. We belt Melbourne in Melbourne - premiership favourites
2. We beat Melbourne in a tight one - definitely top 3 contenders
3. We lose to Melbourne in a tight one - finalists and maybe contenders
4. We get belted by Melbourne in Melbourne - season over and we all cry

What if get belted but then belt Melbourne next match up?

We could belt Melbourne in Melbourne next week and there will still be a few in here having a cry that we aren't contenders until we beat Penrith and Souths at the same time or some bullshit.

Also we could get belted and some of us will still have faith because premierships aren't won in May, and if you don't have faith, or at least hope, why even watch?
