Broncos Confirm 2018 Trials

I think maguire at this stage is our starting lock. Whether him and tpj share roles is up in the air I guess, but I'm not sure it makes a huge difference anyway. I thought Oates might start but looks like he's been a little too comfortable at training or something.
Scarlet gets his chance to show what he has too. He was good this time last year. I'd love to see him build on that.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on TPJ starting just yet. still have McGuire and Gillett to comeback into the backrow

TPJ needs to prove he has the motor to start. I wouldnt discount Moose moving back to prop, but with Bird not ready to switch to lock because of injury it wont be happening any time soon. You would think it will take Bird at least half a season to get up to scratch.

Finally get to see Scarlett play. Anyone know if this is live streamed ?

Yea it will be live streamed there will be a link on the broncos site.

Will sims be staying after this year with all the forward talent we have ?

Just because there is a link on the Broncs page doesn’t mean it will be ‘live’ streamed as we all saw last week...

Live ‘pixelated’ more like it...

From the team that will be playing it looks like Issako is going to be over Kahu for the back up fullback spot and I agree. Kahu’s best position is wing especially with his high jump he has onto kicks.
Thaiday also had a interview earlier on in the preseason stating that he has accepted playing frontrow and he will probably be playing there. Thaiday may get run on prop over Sims especially if Oates fires in the second row and Thaiday will be able to get a run on spot for his final year.
Im not a big fan of Opacic but he will be a solid replacement for Bird till he returns.
The other interesting thing though is still the wing spot with Issako named at fullback. Will Issako get the nod because of his versatility or will Pearson be picked because he is a regular on the wing?

Pearson has it with a good performance, and is probably in front now as isaako hasn't been picked in the role. I'd have loved to have seen Kahu given a trial at fullback to see how his newly healed body could handle it. I disagree with thsiday

Pearson could get the nod because he is a specialist winger, but it would also help he plays with Opacic at Redcliffe.

Watching the DVD last night, Capras really gave a good account of themselves and pushed the Broncos more than I would have thought. Quarters helped them and probably stopped the Broncos getting momentum.

It was rusty but enthusiastic from the Broncos. There was a period around 60 minutes where the Broncos kept defending their line in pretty hot conditions and the guys pushed up and did a really good job. No one got lazy. That's good to see from young guys.

Actually you make a good point re their defence. The capras were receiving a lot of good territory ball and their only try came from a dubious cross field kick which appeared, at least from the crappy stream, to be a tackle in the air.

A lot of talk about not looking flashy in attack and players not stepping up, but you make a good point about our defence for the first real hit out in what was a stop start game.
