Personally I would prefer to spend 700,000$ somewhere else, as for moga I'm one of the members happy to persist with him. He's made some errors but also shown some good signs.

Moga is going to get carved up this week, regardless who he defends against. and maybe that is exactly why Wayne has named Mead on the bench ... wouldn't be the first time he has named a winger on the bench

Maybe WB is harking back to Matterson, or even that one time he tried to push the king to the back of the scrum. Bird is a great competitor, and would fit in the Broncs best 13 in a number of positions. A good all round option if we are short next year. The CM seems to be beating this up like it's a done deal.

Isn't this one of the reasons he's looking to move though? He wants to be closer to the ball - either in the halves or fullback?

Plenty of logic of playing Lewis at lock at that point of time, the Broncos had brought in Kevin Walters as their long term 5/8th so it was in the clubs best interests to get him building a combo with Langer. Lewis played a lot of his junior career at lock, had the size and hit hard in defense combined with his ball skills and deceptive running game made an ideal option there. It's a shame he had such a horror run of injuries in 1990, his exit from the Broncos would have been a lot better then it played out.

As for Jack Bird, there is some merit to the idea of him playing lock, but my priority is finding who to partner Milford in the halves. With the right option then I would look at it.

I really like this if we can get Bird playing lock. He's tough and a good ball player which we are now lacking. Hes only 22 so will fill out much like Luke Lewis did when he was a winger. Bird is an ultra competitor which will be great. We still need a 7 but just like this has popped up I am sure WB will have someone in his plans. No way Kodi is a Broncos 7, or if he is we are going to struggle big time. Reminds me of when we played Berro and Seymour there. Yes had talent but how did we go? Berro was a champion 14 from the bench and hooker.

if you read the article it sounds like Bennett is also planning for life after Blair retires since he is about 32. i.e. Bird to lock and McGuire back to the front row.

Also if the article is right, we will be chasing an established half should Nikorima not prove over the next 6 weeks that he is the man for the job. :confusing:
