How is molo going? I remember he was talked up a fair bit in the preseason?

Also is Byrnes showing signs that he would be a good fb in the top grade?

Molo hands have let him down at times this year. Can be fixed though. He will be more a long term project i would have thought. Byrnes has looked promising early in the season at fullback but at the time he was only playing about 20 minutes a game in this position. I have not seen him play a full game at fullback yet. Will let you know as soon as i have. He does not turn 18 until next month so he is still young. To me he looks a real possiblity for either wing or fullback

In junior rep news Queensland finally won a junior representative title with the U/15 Maroons winning the National Championships.

Fullback Kalyn Ponga has plenty of wraps on him and is currently on a Broncos scholarship. Remember the name.

Only caught the tail end of the Sky NZ feed of the NYC last week but the commentators were talking up Byrnes and the great game he was having. Judging from the stats. they weren't just blowing smoke up his bum either.

Great to hear
Thanks for the update Pete

Pete, I read last year that Kalyn was on a Broncos scholarship yet he has been playing with Eastern Suburbs Tigers this year. As he is originally from Mackay I find it hard to understand why the Broncos would place him right under the nose of the Melbourne Storm at their affiliated club. Maybe the Storm have poached him??

barker, haven't heard anything to suggest he's with the Storm. Brisbane still allow some of their scholarship players to represent Easts at around this age. It will be interesting to see where he ends up when he plays MM where I believe the Broncos are strict about who the player plays for.

Is Corey Oates a chance of making his NRL debut this weekend as it would be good with the senior players in the side rather than against Cronulla with origin players away.

Not sure but it wouldn't surprise if he got the jump on Lui for this game.

Broncos 22-14 kick to come
Tries to Adams Lee Byrnes Opacic
At this stage Broncos 26/26 100% completion rate

He goes alright but very small. Passing game left to right could be a lot sharper for a halfback

He went brilliantly today in Redcliffe's defeat of Wynnum. Man of the match and player's player. Not sure how far he'll go but I liked what I saw today. His kicking game close to the line I thought was very impressive - forced plenty of repeat sets.

Good to hear he went okay. Thanks for the update Jeba

New South Wales Combined High Schools 26 defeated Queensland 22 at the death to win the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships.

Nikorima and Fai were among the try scorers for Queensland.

Any young Broncos make the Australian Schoolboys side?? Bloody NSW seem to be beating in all these younger grades this year.

Quite a few I believe. 1910 posted the team somewhere here, but I can't quickly find the post...

Their junior systems are generally stronger - usually because they have an age advantage.

5 Queensland players made the side if I've read everything right. Their names haven't been released yet and I can't put names to faces.
