Can it be used as much of an indicator or are they too young to judge how they will go in first grade?

Does one have to be eligible for Australia to be eligible for the Australian Schoolboys side?

The U20s were lucky last night, if not for 3 try savers from Byrnes and 1 from Opacic they would have lost. Both our starting props had good games with Coombes having the best game I have seen him play. He seems to be changing from that lumbering kid into a quicker player but will never be fast. Just about all the offloads thrown by Broncs last night were taken by Byrnes as he is in the middle of the ruck looking for them constantly. Apart from one mistake where Opacic slipped over, his game looked strong on the wing. Was hard to contain as he is a strong bustling runner and also made a couple of scything runs.
Brandon Lee is unfashionable but is a workaholic while on the field. He is a player who will never get the plaudits except from his fellow players. I like him
Apart from Coombes, Molo, and Lee the only other forward to go okay was Grienke. Paia'aua was strong in the halves.

Not sure what is going on with Timu but he has not played well since about round 5

Splinter you might have to fill in the gaps for me because on paper Timu's performance looks good. 13 runs, 31 tackles, 4 offloads and a try assist. Stats. can be deceiving but it seems like he had a stronger second half.

I really hope Coombe becomes one of those Nick Kenny type players who spends a lot of time grazing in QCup before eventually being able to offer a couple years of service in the NRL. That'd be ideal because he seems like a decent guy.

Opacic was our most involved offensively with 17 runs and their looked to be plenty of quality in that bunch.

I'm a fan of Lee too. He got some recognition last year but I honestly think he should spend the off-season training with the big boys. Down the line I can see him becoming a very handy Hinchcliffe type player.

Sounds like Ofahengaue didn't have one of his better games. A shame, I have him down with Molo as one of our stars of the near future.

Stoked about Paia'Aua. Everything I've heard and read about him leads me to believe he'll be a better prospect than Taylor who just seems like a player fans got prematurely excited about.

Good second half with some good off loads. Last 30 minutes of first half was average.

Molo was strong second half. I was impressed with the support play which they've been working on. Nice offload by Timu at the end and his normal strong leadership.

I just don't believe Timu has run with his usual vigor since about round 5. He had a number of carries right in front of me last night that I would class as soft. Certainly not carried as hard as the centre and winger beside him.
He seems to be offloading at the wrong times on occasions rather than quality offloads.
I guess what I am trying to say is he no longer stands out as much in this team.

I would say paia'aua is more structured than Taylor. I am impressed with Taylor playing what is in front of him. He is very aware of where his own outside players are as well as where the defenders are. If they both develop I would think they will compliment each other

Taylor is our future half. Like Lockyer when he was 18, he should be given bench time next year assuming fitness

Who's the other second row this week? Any chance Harry Pondekas will make his debut.

What now? 54-10? I think it's time to bring some new players what, what do they have to loose? Not like any of the players are performing at the moment.

How did you rate his SOO performance?

He didn't stand out much in that game for mine either.......

Timu is something of a flat track bully. Can score a try but doesn't like to get his hands dirty.

With that said, Queensland are always going to struggle in that fixture. NSW are always going to have a more consistent age group when it's restricted like that.

Ahead of Brooks or Langi?

I don't see much of the NYC but I like Bhana being named in the team. if I'm remembering the right guy he is a tackling machine for the Warriors. It is good to see a defensive player recognised in a comp that is 90% about attack
