Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2016

Bit worried that Inglis has been moved to five eighth this week when Maguire only said 2 weeks ago he is our fullback and will stay fullback. Maybe a sign that Maguire is thinking long term fullback after GI leaves. Or just me over thinking cause I'm bored 

Any coach who watched the test and still plays him at fullback is a terrible coach.

THE Broncos’ hopes of retaining Matt Gillett have soared after Cronulla yesterday withdrew a $1 million-plus offer to the off-contract Maroons ace.Gillett is seeking around $700,000 a season and the Titans and Sharks had lodged expressions of interest with the Broncos forward’s manager Isaac Moses.
But the Sharks are officially out of the race, with the club’s offer of around $500,000 shy of the amount Gillett would required to shift his young family to Sydney.
The Broncos aren’t getting cocky yet but Gillett has told coach Wayne Bennett he wants to stay and he will choose the grand finalists over the struggling Titans.

IF the Panthers don’t sign James Tamou, their back up plan is Broncos prop Josh McGuire.

The Inside Mail can reveal the Panthers are interested in signing McGuire and have privately discussed the prop’s availability.

McGuire is off-contract at the end of 2017, meaning the Panthers cannot talk to him prior to November.

With Tamou flip-flopping on leaving the Cowboys, the Panthers could make a summer player for McGuire to join in 2017.

Panthers coach Anthony Griffin has a high opinion of McGuire from his days leading the Broncos.

The Broncos will fight hard to keep McGuire and would be highly unlikely to release him from his contract early.

Their will be a major bidding war for McGuire next season.

**** off Griffin.

Leave our players alone.

Tamou will go, the contract Penrith are offering is pretty good $$$$

Everyone will be linked to everyone coming into this cap raise. We have a lot of players only signed up til end of next year.

With the majority of players being signed until the end of 2017, it's almost going to give the game a "reset". It wouldn't surprise me to see clubs turn over half of their top 25.

Yea its going to be hectic with this raise. The business that it is, people are really going to see it now.

Speculated raise*

You talk like it's fact. It's not.

Someone is going to look silly. Im pretty confident its not me.

He's not going to look silly at all. He's pointing out a cold hard fact. It isn't confirmed, so you shouldn't make out that it has been, in case someone reads it and gets the wrong information.

Not confirmed but bleeding obvious.

If it is so obvious ... Then why are player managers only negotiating contracts for their players until the end of 2017.

Why don't they and clubs just negotiate on the basis of an $11 million salary cap.

Ask the clubs that. Well its simple. You know how much the caps normally raise by. You know its not normally a lot.
You, I and the rest of us are about to learn about Club and Player Loyalty. We are about to learn about business with such a cap raise.
The reason being is because they are still doing further deals and a fair chance its going to be higher again. Its 12 million with the grants to keep top line players.

Well it seems you know what the NRL will do before they will ... especially since they haven';t even discussed what the cap will be yet...

and if it is a certainty (as you claim) that the cap will rise to 12 million ... then players and clubs really have no reason to hold off on signing players beyond 2017 and basing their contract offers on a cap of $12 million.
