any idea what it was. I have issues with channel 7, so checked out Ch9, and all they had was White saying that while they will be looking at the market for Hunt's replacement, they will also be looking internally. They had Prince nominating Nikorima.

Boyd expected to be named captain this week

Oates to re-sign but only for a year because he wants to play back row

Oates taking us for a ride so he can have the option to play second row elsewhere. Apparently it's written into his contract that he must play on the wing.

Ex-Bronco? Pretty obvious really, we've suckered Sticky in to whipping one Dave "Game management" Taylor in to shape so he take over as halfback for us next year.

Bye to Glenn and Thaiday. Oates has far more to offer long term.

Whats this obsession with getting rid of Glenn.

IMO, he is one of the most under rated players in the game and a vital part of our pack

Not if oates wants to be in the second row and then sua coming along and Gillett u s locked in. So glenn and thaiday will be moved on , glenn will be first i would think.

Oates offers more.

It's that simple.

Garry thinks we'll see a little bit of Oates in the 2nd row this year, with a full time move the goal for next year.

We can't keep everyone, and we've got some major positional backlogs, especially at backrow, you'd think that Oates & Su'A are the future for us, but then we've got Gillett, the best in the world at the position, and 2 other internationals in Glenn & Thaiday..

Tough choices will have to be made in the next 12 months.

Easy. Glenn and Thaiday go.

Or just one of them to keep Oates.

Oates has far more upside than the both of them.

Maybe Oates is just waiting to see what the increased salary cap is going to be before he signs long-term ?

Absolutely. A back row of Oates and Sua is exactly what's planned.

I said it a while ago, Glenn has been on the lower end of the pecking order for a while.

Thaiday may also get a tap on the shoulder like Parker did.

If these young guys keep progressing, it's hard to keep them out of first grade.

Fai is next. That kid could be anything, but has some traffic in front of him for now. I would actually think he may have jumped ahead of Joe O at this stage.

Ese'ese is starting to show what he can do, after a big off season.

The future is bright, particularly in the forwards.

That might be the thing though, I think we'll have to get rid of both of them, Oates seems pretty adamant about wanting to be a starting backrower, and I can't see us under any scenario moving Gillett from that right edge.

Whilst in theory it sounds ok to have either Thaiday or Glenn on the bench, that's not that the way the league is moving, we need an X-Factor utility and 3 big boppers. Thaiday has already proven he isn't effective in any position apart from that starting left edge, and whilst Glenn was great for us last year, at some point we've gotta think about opening up more minutes for the guys we've got coming through.

I'd say the most likely scenario right now is that we don't re-sign Glenn, and we give Thaiday a "swansong" season where he comes off the bench for 25 minutes a game in 2018.

Yeah i think glenn moved on and thaiday to retire in a couple max , to make way for sua .
