I won't have egg on my face if or when Jack Bird performs. I will still believe he was the wrong signing for us. I thought it was wrong as soon as the news came out that he had signed. It's the wrong signing for us regardless of the cash he is getting paid.. the cash just makes it hurt more..

I thought you said earlier you were done with this topic

Cameron Cullen is carving it up in queensland cup. Why is he not signed to an NRL club?

He has been at gold coast and manly. Bit too similar to what we have imo

Really hope we don't loose Isaako, especially to the roosters.. If you believe the rumors, Robinson held a sit down meeting with Isaako last week in Brisbane.
I feel we will loose one of our young guns especially due to the talent, and the fact that so many are off contract at the end of this year..
Isaako has solely won us multiple games with his conversions, something we haven't had at the Broncs for many years.
Hopefully he genuinely meant that he wants to be a Bronco for life.

Surely they can't afford to outbid us for him. From his comments he wants to play for the Broncos, has an easier pathway to FB, and is in a side that's on the up compared to the rorters who have question marks over them. If the rorters somehow get him it'll be further evidence that the cap just needs to go and a luxury tax instated, because they've found a way to play at 1-2 mil more than even the other big (as in financially) clubs.

They have possibly three one million dollar players on their books for ***** sake. And if they want to keep Mitchell he'll get close to that figure as well...

EDIT: The rumour just won't go away though. I hope it's journos sinking the boot into us like usual, but **** me dead I hate the rorters with a passion. At least with the storm, and previously the cows, you can sit back and know that they'll be rubbish when Smith/ JT retire, the rorters will always be there in the dark like some monster from a HP Lovecraft novel, waiting to steal your promising juniors for unbelievable sums of cash when they've already got a stacked squad.

If Isaako leaves I will lose my fucking shit!

Nobody asked you to, just from what I've been told and a few little things from Bennett ( which I might be reading too much into ) I'm sure we got him as a lock. Plus I dont see any sense in any other position for him. Not going to move Boyd from fullback, not going to move Milf from 5/8. Way too much money to be paying a center and the fact he doesnt like center. He sees lock as his best position as well, so lock to me has always been the logical choice for him at the Broncos.
Not by any stretch am I having a dig at you, but the problem with the bold portion of your comment is that, for example, Oates sees second row as his best position.

There’s been hefty debate on here about this very topic, with only a handful of people on this forum thinking it’s a good idea to move him to second row. Bennett also seems to agree with the majority, publicly at least, and has said he won’t be doing it.

With that in mind, it would seem rather strange to sign someone knowing you had to reshuffle the side to accommodate them when you won’t do it for another player who has at least got the runs on the board for the Broncos.

As an example and to touch on some of your earlier comments; if we wanted a ball playing lock, what would have been far less disruptive to the team during the offseason, not to mention cheaper, would be to move Gillett to 13 and give Oates a shot at 12. I don’t doubt for a second that Gillett could be just as good as Bird at lock, if not better.

I must reiterate, I was OK with the Bird signing. But his injuries aside, it’s looking like a more curious signing with each passing day.

I get that you seem to have a better ear to the team than other here but what you say makes little sense.

There doesn't have to be moving Milf - a half is a half these days. Its fair money for a 3rd half/center who is a big body to help cover a smaller half inside him.

Its not logical to be considering bird at lock when you look at the talent we have in the ranks...so it would make no sense to spend 700k on him planning for him to compete against younger and cheaper talent. His only real position is centre with the adjunction of being an additional half. Anywhere else is just paying overs?
