Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

There are not many options on the table for a coach suitable.

Bellamy can no longer be an option - he had his chance and decided against. It would be stupid to offer him a deal from 2022.

Seibold wont make a public decision until season end. Broncos Board wont make a decision until season end. That appears on the surface that we aren't in an favourable position there.

Besides Demetriou there is no other option. The bridges appear to have been burnt and chosen with Kevvie.

Mal Meninga's contract with ARL role finishes the end of 2019 - i would prefer him over any, however i do not think he would take on the role? Infact in a perfect world I would only want Mal to take over from Wayne.

If he leaves he's dead to us lol. Pretty sure its it's a hand shake deal with us but we've all seen how that's worked out in the past.

I think linking players to the Roosters is becoming a bit of a meme at this point.

That post came off the Roosters official fb page which obtained this info from the Sydney Telegraph. It is probably false but being as Bennett's tenure is winding down at the club, TPJ is possibly thinking that staying in Brisbane is pointless. He would be a big loss but I couldn't blame him for heading back to Sydney.

Staggs will be on a lot more than 105k
I have no inside information on players or how the cap works, I was just assuming that since Staggs isn't in our top 30 this year he is on the NRL Development List at 60k. I was also assuming that since he isn't off contract this year he wouldn't be able to renegotiate a new contract for 2019 based on his increased value. My last assumption was that the Broncos would bump up the remainder of his contract to either the top 26 minimum of 105k or the 27-30 minimum of 72.5k in order to be able to start him next year without seeking NRL permission. Like I said, I have no inside information so all of these assumptions could be wrong.

He got an upgrade earlier in the year until 2020 i believe it is but it wont kick in until next year. I'd say we would be looking at about the 150k - 200k mark.

I only know he was contracted through 2020 but I didn't know he had been upgraded this year. I thought he was still on whatever contract he signed for U20s. I definitely don't begrudge him earning more - he's been great when he's filled in.

Warriors together? Reportedly they are tight. Hate to lose them as both good clubmen and offer experience but if things go well both will struggle to be in run on team in 1-2 years and if they are going to get a huge payday have to wish them good luck.

If it means keeping Oates on wing and the whole group of young forwards then in age of NRL controlled mediocrity have to make ridiculous and unfair compromises. As 10 year veteran one club players they should both be on 50% free salary (maybe up to a limit of average NRL wage) after age 30 if NRL was serious about its fans! If clubs can’t develop their own talent or keep players more than a couple of years too bad.

Can’t say I’m unhappy about that. Good guys, but we need premierships.

that will actually be bad for us ... especially Kahu

we are already struggling for depth in the wing position, losing Oates and Kahu would hurt us.

not to mention that we still have to replace both guys (who are on realtively small contracts) with guys on 120k contracts and in all likelihood nowhere near as good, further diminishing our depth ...

the salary cap means we can have TPJ's in every position ... you need those quality guys who will hang around for less cash

If it means keeping Oates on wing

we'll probably lose him as well, as he doesn't want to play wing ... Pearson will get one wing spot, but **** knows who gets the other
