To much to quote here
I think there was probably a realisation early June that something needed to change ;) time will tell right? There are far more other issues in that team, a lot which started in pre season.

Sure, Parra is awful, and Norman may be a contributing factor, that doesn't mean we can just write off his stats for the season and say "They don't count because they didn't win enough games"
In fact, you could make the argument that Norman's stats would be better if he played for us, because we have a superior roster with many more attacking options.
How many games have Parra won this year? Re-fresh me. Good stats...losing, pathetic team. Add MM's stats for reference.
Boy I'm glad you're not in charge of making recruitment decisions..
Come home, Corey.
Who then foordy , the cupboard is pretty bare ?
We have apparently taken our offer for jacks away, do we persist with knik?
Imo, stats don't count for shit unless you're winning. He's obviously been one of the better players in a crap team - a team with serious attitude problems. To which he undoubtedly contributes. His stats 'count' - but what does that amount to?
Norman doesn't sound "hungry" to me. Maybe it's because I don't like the flog, but it sounds to me like he wants everyone else to do the hard work, and he just gets to throw the cool passes and bask in the glory of success.
Hey Corey, you made your choice - you chose the cash when you could have been part of the best club in the world. With that pay-packet came the expectation that you would earn it by being professional and working your ring off. It sounds like you haven't been willing to do either. Had you conducted yourself better, as a marquee player perhaps you could have been pivotal in turning the mindset and fortunes of the Eels around, and helped them to be the finals contenders that you wish to play with. Maybe.
Right now, you are showing the exact same (lack of) ticker by wanting to walk in to a successful team, without having contributed to its success or its culture. Like you have shown consistently through your career, I expect that you'll want to put in some effort every four or five games, and hope that the quality of the side around you is sufficient to carry you along when you don't feel like rolling your sleeves up. Do you think a genuinely successful team will want to carry someone like you?
Just as importantly, will you accept that a team that is already quality will not have the salary-cap space in order to accommodate the pay packet to which you have become accustomed? Should the Eels not be willing to pay you to pay elsewhere, and frankly, why the **** would they, would you be willing to take a hefty pay cut in order to achieve the success you are after?
My advice, coming from a fat lazy judgmental bastard behind a keyboard, is to worry less about what a club can do for you, and more about what you can do for a club. You have the undeniable talent to be one of the top halves in the NRL, and realistically, you still have about 4 or 5 good years left in you. You can make good on your talents, knuckle down, and use these last years to be the player that you should always have been. Be a catalyst for success, and not just expect it to fall at your feet. Or you can do what you have always done, and take the easy road. Coast off your talent, throw a few highlight-reel passes, put on a nice step, and receive high-fives from your teammates who are paid a quarter as much as you and put in twice the effort, every single week, and have regular holidays in September.
It shows he has the skills to get decent stats while being in a shit position.
Lucky for us, it seems that the people in charge of the recruitment completely agree with me on this
will this be the first time in history, that you have ever disagreed with Bennett
hopefully it is not a choice between Norman and Niko ... but if it is, I would much rather Niko. at least he has a strong work ethic and has plenty of heart ... unlike Norman who only puts in when he feels like it and has a tendency to sulk on the field if he doesn't get his way ... then there is the little matter of the 750k pay check he is on. and Norman is not the sort of player to take a pay cut.
it does seem like we are looking at our halves options though, while we may have reportedly withdrawn our offer to Jacks, we have also reportedly made one to this Roosters young gun, who hopefully at the very least will put some pressure on Niko
Not sure niko is our man but has increased his output over the last month. Would like to know the reasoning behind the jacks withdrawal.
Maybe because the storms reserve grade fullback plays halfback better than him.
Why make an offer in the first place then ?
Can't agree with this at all to be honest.
To me the reason parra are plying so shit this year is because Moses has either taken control or Arthur has given him the keys.
Last year before Moses joined the club Norman was absolutely tearing the comp apart and possessed every play in the halfback arsenal.
He was a serious option for Qld until he did his medial against roosters. After the injury Norman took a bit of a backseat to Moses and chimed in as needed, but I was very impressed with how he owned that parra team last year considering before Moses joined he had Gutherson switching between 5/8 and fullback, a nobody at 9 and a merry go round for the last spine member.
In saying that I don't think he'd be a great fit for Taylor. Taylor's best asset is his kicking game and Norman already has that in spades (and probably better than Ash tbh)... so I dont see how Ash would be able to contribute effectively.
The alternative would be Norman taking a backseat to Ash which doesn't help the team at all.
Realistically the best partner for Taylor is a Milf/Niko/Hunt/Widdop style 5/8. Someone who can lay down some serious attack without needing to be the dominant playmaker.
Pretty sure he is just saying that he's 28, doesn't have much time left to win a premiership and doesn't want to spend the rest of his career at a club that is unlikely to win a competition in that time. He want to play for a premiership. Sounds smart to me.
The Broncos and Storm are the most compatible with that train of thought and in terms of having a position available.
I'm also not sure I'd want to hand him over the playmaking reins straight up with the way that Milf has been kicking and playing as a half of late
I would 100%, Milf is easily capable of playing far better. Let someone else take control, and give Milf freedom to play like a Keary or something and dominate more.

No Porthoz it isn't, I have disagreed with Bennett every single week he has played Kodi at 7.
Regardless, when has Bennett said he doesn't like Norman?
