Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

I'd prefer the media to not pick a side and just be honest. Their job isn't to lean one way or the other, or to attempt to derail our season year after year because of their agendas. Their job is to write facts.
LOL how naive.

More like wishful thinking. I know it won't happen but it's what I'd prefer. I think people need to completely stop opening rugby league media though. The whole thing is a joke.
I agree with you mate. Not just in league but in society in general.

My disappointment is more the feeling that the Broncos sold out. Bennett was no saint, he had his flaws and it was an undignified end. Nonetheless there is a feeling that, after everything the media did to derail our 2018 season, the Broncos simply did not want another year of knives, and relented. Gave the media what they want, so they'd leave us alone.

So while I want Seibold to succeed, absolutely, I simply can't enjoy having his tires pumped up, as they have been from the micro-second Bennett was sacked, knowing that the only reason we're getting positive press is because we bent over and took it from the media.

Well put and exactly how I feel.

To be honest though, Seibolds tyres should be pumped up. He won Dally M coach of the year in his rookie year. He Made the prelims in his first year with a team people didn't think would do well at start of the season. Meanwhile Broncos got belted first week of the finals when they started the season as one of the favourites, in bennetts fourth year back at the club and the team he had assembled completely himself. Add to the fact that the Rabbitohs wanted to retain Seibold and only signed Bennett because there was literally no one else available (other than Michael McGuire and they didn't want to be Panthers 2.0).

I don't think it has anything to do with the Broncos bending over. They made it clear they no longer wanted Bennett. They then persued Bellamy, didn't work out (lets be real, he was never going to come) and then ended up getting the Dally M Coach of the year instead.

If you like Bennett more or whatever then thats fine, you're entitled to your opinion, but the constant bashing and seemingly one-sidedness is drying thin. It's happened. Media do posts to sell papers. Broncos won, Rabbitohs lost.

The Dally M coach of the year aka the journalist's favourite coach of the year.

The award means little - Neil Henry won it in 2008, Kevin Moore in 2009 - it's not the end all to be end all.

God I hope not.

The Eels have made better players look shit. He undoubtedly has talent, it would be interesting to see how he'd go behind the best pack in the comp as opposed to one getting rolled on a weekly basis.

Yep, and add to that how hard Souths fought to keep him and the way their fan base melted down when he left. They understood his potential going forward.

EDIT: We'd be as beloved as a Sydney team with the media with Moses at HB and Seibold as coach. The media loves both of them.

I'm not saying it is the be all and end all. But theres no hiding that Seibold did extremely well. They came 12th in 2017 and were tipped to miss the 8. This year they came third with 16 wins. 7 more than the previous year.

You're right in saying that Souths did better than expected, but they ere generally considered odds on of making the eight. It was the premiership market where they weren't so highly regarded and as it turns out, for fair reason.

In saying that, my main objection is just using the Dally Ms as any form of indication. Especially when it comes to awards decided by the media - of course they'll create their own narrative to suit their agenda.

The Moses romour seems to make sense.

Kniko has been shopped around and Seibold has mentioned 1-2 more spots to be filled. So it sounds like a half is on the agenda. Eels have been trying to offload either Norman or Moses for a while now.

While I’m not a fan at all of Moses attitude, if we could somehow sign 2017, and Lebanon Moses without signing 2018 Moses it could work out quite well for us. It would really suit the young cocky team we have built. He does have a lot of raw half skills but whether or not he can be taught how to lead the team around properly is another question entirely.

To be fair, it may be worth a risk in a short deal as Moses would be better than the no halfback approach we tried this year.

I just think he's a whiny bitch, a total flat track bully. Not to mention how he whiteanted the Tigers when he wanted to go to Parra.

No thanks.

If Seibold can do to him what he did to Cook and Walker then he has the potential to be one of the premier halves in the comp. He has the most talent of the Tigs' "big four", including Teddy.

Wait, so did he sign for us, or did he sign for QCUP team? Original reports all said QCup team but I haven't really been keeping up with it. If everyone is fit I assume he wouldn't get a run anyway and would likely need 1-2 injuries to have a spot.

Signed with Dolphins and on trial with the Broncos with a lot of feeder club players. He was released from the Reds when they secured Naivalu from Rebels yesterday.

The media
Come on Cult, if you're going to play the role of the bloke who calls out bullshit, you probably should avoid spouting it yourself.

All the media did was point out the difference in Seibold's and Bennett's methods. In fact, the article on the subject specifically said "only the fullness of time will tell" whether the new methods would be a success.
