Don't really need Arrow. Fantastic player but we really need better backs. If Seibold is confident our up and coming backs will be stars, then sure, more forwards the better.
Normally I'd agree with that, but they were getting flogged from pillar to post about Lodge. Taking away the "but he hasn't paid his victims so he shouldn't be allowed to play and therefore never be able to earn enough to be able to pay them" line from the media took most of the heat out of it and allowed everyone to move along. In that respect the NRL probably has a legitimate interest in ensuring the matter is finalised cleanly and won't come back to bite anyone in the arse. Not quite.
As I recall the NRL wanted the details of the proposed repayment plan as a condition of registering him again. In fact they even had to approve it as well.
I know it’s a bit strange they got into the debt collection business but I think that’s what happened.
Anyway hopefully he can speed up this process and put it behind him ASAP.

it was reported that he secured a bank loan to pay the settlement.
so in that case his debt is now with the bank, not the victims of his NYC incident
That's true but at least he trains hard and puts in the effort, I think Taylor just didn't careHopefully he does, although the same thing was always said about the Coal Train. Never clicks with some players

Not sure if posted elsewhere but ( Lurker warning ) is saying talk of Doggies being interested in Macca or Levi.

I will pray to another lord to make this happen. Not sure if posted elsewhere but ( Lurker warning ) is saying talk of Doggies being interested in Macca or Levi.
Macca has not taken the player option(yet?).I would prefer the doggies to look at Macca rather than Turpin. There also hasn’t been any official release that Macca has taken up his option so he could still make a move and given the way the dogs do contracts he could stand to get a great payday.
I thought he had to make a decision by June 30???Macca has not taken the player option(yet?).
The NRL now publish all the contracts (excluding value).

You can see they've already updated the years for Lodge and TPJ. Macca is still listed as PO, so he has not yet taken the option in his favour, or at least, it hasn't been lodged by him/the club.
Just on your remark about Gordon, I would have loved to have had him come to the Broncos two or three years ago but the need isn't the same now. Always considered him a top class fooorballer.Spry looks a great young talent. Could be more depth though as well. I know contracts don’t mean much now adays but based on who is off contract with them this year possibly Brenko Lee or Ryley Jacks as extra depth? Michael Gordon is also off contract, if he came cheap might be decent depth and experience (but given it says young talent not likely to be Gordon). I would prefer to lock up the talent we have though.

I really respect how Macca carries himself and his service to the club but he has well and truly plateaued and unfortunately it is at a lower level than our other options.
Why did you think that? I mean you might be right but I'm pretty sure June 30 deadline is only for new recruits. Extensions of a contract can be done at any time, same way we re-signed TPJ/Lodge yesterday.I thought he had to make a decision by June 30???

I'm pretty sure he can take it anytime before November 1st, which is when he would otherwise go off contract and it would no longer be valid.
I'm sure it would be stipulated in the contract that the PO has to be taken by X date to be effective. Being the NRL though I'd say that date is November 1st and it's a standardised option rather than player specific. Who knows though. Only 6 of the 16 clubs don't have a PO contract on the books.there is probably a deadline for the decision so the club can make plans based on that decision
