In a by gone age, a bit of a **** case like a Moses or a Pearce would have been right up Bennett's alley. He would have cracked a few whips and straightened the turd out. It says a lot that these days, he can't even be assed.

I know we are desperate for a halfback, but we arent desperate enough to sign Drinkwater. He isnt even playing halfback for a rubbish Hull KR, Atkin is. With that side, we would end up with basically two 5/8ths just like we started this year with.

I'll also stick my neck out and say Perese will never make it in the NRL as a center based on this year. He hasnt really learned from his mistakes that much for me and i actually find his effort quite lazy at times. Look at the weekends game for an example for Wynnums try. He just doesnt do the little one percenters for me. The wing however i think could be where he comes into his own. Its a far simpler position, and he would have less thinking to do and could concentrate on what he does best, just run straight and hard.

Hypothetically if we could land Jai Arrow at the expense of Fifita, do we do it?
I love Fifi, and would absolutely hate to loose him. I don't want him going anywhere. but..
We need a leader and Arrow could be a bloke who we could look at signing again. I would rather us loose Oates, Gillo and Isaako, keep Fifi and somehow land Arrow, but i just can't see it happening.
We are stacked in the forwards, but it is just so damn obvious that we need a leader on AND off the field.
Out of all the off-contract players, there is no one yelling leader to me who we could go after..
I would go all in, in bringing Sezer to the club - I have been pretty vocal on that over the last month or so, but again I don't think I see him as a leader, but we do need a dominant half.
I don't know if there is a leader in this squad that we could turn to when the going gets tough, I'm really not sure what the club does..

I really rate Jai, was gutted when he left but he is probably in a position where we are already over loaded with contracted players.

It going to be tricky on who to target really because the quality isnt out there and available, so we would have to do some major wheeling and dealing across the board. Most half decent players with any kind of experience we would have to get out of their contracts. Jennings is one i would look at, but i think he will be staying at Parra. @upthebroncs mentioned Takarangi who i think is off contract and he would do a decent job as well.

Our backrowers are getting on , we need Fifita. We've got plenty of good middle forwards , so he's not a necessity .
Sezer I could handle.

By realistically I mean ones who are actually a possibility. Not too far fetched. And who would you move on to get the money?

For me, I think first choice would be Holmes at fullback. This would allow Milford to go back to 6 and hopefully build a stronger partnership with Dearden.

Second choice, probably Aidan Sezer. This would leave Bird at fullback, with Milford to move in to halves to partner Sezer. Dearden can spend another year developing in Qcup.

To get this cash space, ideally I'd move on Boyd > Macca > Gillett > Oates. And probably in that order. I think all four are not delivering value for money. I would only be open to losing Bird if it meant we got Holmes. I also really hope they keep Glenn. In an absolute ideal world, we would get Sezer and Holmes, I'd probably run with this for a round 1 team.

Yeah I rate Townsend. Would be interesting. Although I do think if we can only bring in 1 player that Holmes would be the best. Milford and Dearden looked good in their few games together and would only improve. Milford not good enough st fullback anymore.

Holmes is an elite winger, not an elite fullback. I’d take him on the wing only.

Disagree. I used to feel the same way but he really impressed me at the back end of his fullback days at the sharks.

Have you seen any of his social media? Everything about him screams Chad.

He’d be a decent pick up though; especially if by some miracle we also got Holmes and they brought that existing combo with them.
