I'd lose McGuire to get Burgess, he'd be worth it.

problem in that scenario is that McGuire is signed for another 4 years, meaning we would likely have to pay part of his salary for those years to get rid of him, thus meaning we would be unlikely have the cash to sign Burgess.

Let's say hypothetically we lost McGuire, Blair and Kahu to get Burgess, we could still run out a team like this:

you'd be weakening our side too much, besides you'd probably have to offload more to get him, he'd command close to $1 million and off the players you named, Kahu's contract of 400k would be the highest.

we're not the Rorters you know, we can't get a million dollar player by offload some minimal wage players.

Offloading Glenn, Arrow and Ofahengue would do nothing as they are all on minimal contracts and still have to be replaced in the squad with other players on similar money.

Not sure how it would weaken our side. For each player we lose we already have replacements for them and very good ones at that. We also have more players that are just about ready for NRL that are just as good as them.

Even if Sam does command up to $1 million, we wouldn't need to have all of that on the cap. What we do have and the Sydney clubs don't have is a shit load money making opportunities. With Thaiday nearing retirement, that would free up even more cash.

Melbourne Storm have been doing all of this for years, and we could have a Burgess on our books if we move money around.

He may have watched Moses sooking and thought he could get away with the same, however Moses at least had a contract with a new club. Walker does not, so if he's not lucky he'll go the same way as Sandow and end up 20 kegs overweight and having a drunken scuffle with a dude from his home town.

I think I agree with @Super Freak to an extent. Kahu is the strangest goal kicker I've seen in a while, sometimes he strikes the ball as clean as anyone in the world, other times he can't even make the distance (How many times has this happened this season? 6, 7 times?)

From memory Kahu is kicking at around the 80% mark on the season, but I'm not sure if that is a reliable or sustainable figure for him. He also severely inhibits our ability to take the 2 if we're any more than 30 metres away from the goal posts, because in the back of our minds we know he can't kick that far.

If he can maintain the 80%+ mark for the whole season, I'm on board with him being a good goal kicker, just need some more sample size.
