not sure how long, paix and boyd are both on the books for now.

I agree on Paix mate. Very promising player. Also agree on your point of Qld teams etc. Remember that our Australian captain, and future immortal, Cameron Smith was overlooked for the Qld Schoolboys team.

These carnivals are sometimes a good guide, but not the be-all and end-all that's for sure.

Not unless Jordan Kahu is heading to the Warriors

Well hopefully we can hold onto Paix and partner him with Milford if he develops like it looks like he will and if we don't get Ash Taylor back.

it will depend on cash mate, fifita can probably play nrl at 18/19 and i know plenty of clubs dont have the depth we do so they will come for him
Is David Fifita sign with Broncos. How old he is. Who is better player between Payne haas and David Fifita?

fifita is 17 and he is with us for another season i believe. my personal view is fifita over haas

With kodi/cody debate I forgot what the heading was for a second. Are there any other rumours besides this one out there? I don't see this one going anywhere, but after jack bird, my confidence in predicting such has taken a bit of a hit :p

The Warriors are targeting a double bid for Bulldogs skipper James Graham and senior Broncos forward Adam Blair.
Both players are in the twilight of their careers, with Graham, 31, in his 13th season as a professional while the 30-year-old Blair has 11 NRL campaigns behind him.
Moves for the duo would carry some risk - as it would be hard to predict their form into their 30s - but signing veterans to lead the forward pack is an approach that's worked before at Mt Smart.
The most famous example was the double signing of Steve Price and Ruben Wiki ahead of the 2005 season.
Price made his Warriors debut just after his 31st birthday, while Wiki was 32 when he ran out for Auckland club for the first time.
But the two old heads delivered tremendous value.
The hope is for Graham and Blair to provide the leadership that is desperately needed by the crop of Warriors cubs in the pack.
Negotiations are well advanced with Blair, who maintains a close friendship with Warriors coach Stephen Kearney, from their Storm, Broncos and Kiwis association.
The Broncos will face some salary cap pressures next year - with plenty of high profile players off contract - and there is also talk out of Sydney that Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess could be lured to the Queensland club for the 2018 season, which would change the face of the Broncos roster.
Graham has one year left on his deal at Belmore and is a proud Bulldogs club captain.
But that was the same for Price more than a decade ago, and Graham may be persuaded to move clubs to secure a longer deal for his final NRL contract.

If we somehow manage to lure Sam to the club.. Well, that would be our greatest forward signing since Tallis.

Take it with a massive grain of salt of course, but god damn, I'd trade Blair, Kahu & Glenn for Burgess & Bird any day of the week.

1. Boyd (c)
2. Oates
3. Roberts
4. Bird
5. Pearson
6. Milford
7. Nikorima
8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Ese'ese
11. Thaiday
12. Gillett
13. Burgess

14. Su'A
15. Pangai Jr
16. Sims
17. Lodge

If we could get Sam, I wonder if we could get his brothers.

George has been a massive flop this year, but if Bennett can get him back to his best, goddamn we would have the best pack in the comp.

we'd never afford the trio ... hell i doubt we'd be able to afford Sam.

I would happily offload Blair, Glenn, Kahu, Ofahengaue and Arrow if that meant we could get Sam and with Thaiday retiring that would free up more cash.

Then we replace those players in the top 30 with minimum wage players.

you'd be weakening our side too much, besides you'd probably have to offload more to get him, he'd command close to $1 million and off the players you named, Kahu's contract of 400k would be the highest.

we're not the Rorters you know, we can't get a million dollar player by offload some minimal wage players.

Offloading Glenn, Arrow and Ofahengue would do nothing as they are all on minimal contracts and still have to be replaced in the squad with other players on similar money.

you'd probably have to lose a McGuire or Gillett to get the cash to sign Burgess

besides it doesn't matter if we have the best pack in the comp if we can only afford Maranta's in the backline to finish off our tries

You really think these 2 would leave each other?

It would undoubtedly be a great signing but Sam would have to be one of my most disliked players.

Anyone suggesting we sign his brothers are out of their minds though. I'd be surprised if they could hold onto a pen long enough to sign a contract. And even if they did, they would probably elbow a couple of guys in the process.

Let's say hypothetically we lost McGuire, Blair and Kahu to get Burgess, we could still run out a team like this:

1. Boyd
2. Pearson
3. Roberts
4. Bird
5. Isaako
6. Milford
7. KNik
8. Ese'ese
9. McCullough
10. Sims
11. Oates
12. Gillett
13. Burgess

14. Haas
15. TPJ
16. Fai
17. Glenn
