Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

Cody Walker is just an out and out footballer.
I would put him as possibly the best half in the comp at creating and delivering space to his runners. He takes the line on almost every touch and creates space, almost Thurston like.
It actually amazes me that it's taken so long for him to reach NRL. He was untouchable in the Q Cup for a number of years.

I would take him. But I can't see it happening.

Well, if you of all people say so, then I've got no choice but to concede. With such praise, maybe it would be good to see him in Broncos colours after all.

Walker is a better version of Nikorima. While neither player is really a perfect match with Milford in the halves, all things being equal (particularly salary) I'd prefer Walker as our halfback next year.

My preference is still a legitimate organising, game managing half with a strong kicking game, but I don't see any on the horizon for 2018 at least.

Too much money ? Or we have other preferences joe ?

Money would have to start getting tight. We still have some talent off contract still to sign also.

I didn't rate Cody Walker for a while for some reason, but these days I'm convinced that he's a fucking gun.

Talanoa has said that Tino is the better player between him and Haas...
Haas is by far a better prospect. Tino is a good young kid but still struggling at the QLD open schoolboy trials. Will be lucky to be named in the QLD. David Fifita is the best schoolboy player in the country and is signed to the Broncos. Will be named player of the carnival. Storm will be very concerned about the amount they paid for Tino, he wouldn't be in the top 10 players at the carnival.

There's another David Fifita?

There's another David Fifita?
Yes. He's 17 and goes to Keebra. Been in Broncos system since he was 13. The most dominant schoolboy player I have ever seen. Melbourne can have Tino. Haas, Flegler and Fifita are streaks ahead of him.

The 2 next best players at the carnival are Cory Paix from Toowoomba (halfback) & Tanah Boyd from the Gold Coast (halfback). Both are also with the Broncos. Looks like Storm paid big money and got it very wrong.

Any good outside backs?

We do have Isaako and Allan waiting in the wings currently plus Pearson. Our current first grade backline isn't that old either aside from Boyd and he's got a few years left.

I'd say there are two to three backline positions available next year at most and maybe one more the year after.

Next year with Bird coming and likely playing centre, that leaves Oates's wing if he unfortunately goes to the forwards and maybe Kahu's if he doesn't re-sign even though that is unlikely or Roberts and he, I imagine, is now the priority to lock down.

That means:

3, 4, 6, 7 are all likely under 25.

If Oates keeps a wing spot or Pearson, then your 5 is also under 25.

@Danoz Direct, how'd you rate Fai's debut mate?

Would expect Gehamat Shibasaki to be ready for 1st grade next year. Also Staggs may be ready in a couple of years if he keeps developing the way he is
