I’m not saying he’s playing the victim card, i’m saying he seems to have a victim mentality, which truly is hard to shake. It has nothing to do with ‘trends’ as other’s have said. It’s a human condition that is difficult to overcome, as for the majority of your life (when a teenager or young man) you have absolutely been victimised. Having kids helps as you focus outwardly instead of inwardly. I never suggested being a victim is a slur on him, just a reality.

A reality based on what? Have you ever met Boyd? Spoken to him? How do you know that Bennett "planted the seed" of this victim mentality?

You could argue that subsequent events have proven that Parker was right, and maybe he could see where things were heading with Boyd.

In what way was he right though? I don't think it's been published anywhere what he actually said to Boyd to make a call on it.

Boyd isn't a bad captain overall in the scheme of things. If he was, the players would have backed Parker and they wouldn't keep backing Darius. Boyd is now a poor player and a shadow of what he was. He still performs a lot of his duties as captain just fine, he just isn't having the impact on the field which is where most fans would judge him.

A reality of his history. My assumption that WB planted ‘the seed’ is based on countless accounts of past players that have been motivated by WB to use their weaknesses to strengthen their games. Unfortunately, I believe WB gave up on Rugby League as a sport around the time Sam broke his neck at Newy. From this point forward, WB seemed to prefer to do a ‘jobs for the boys’ and cared less about performance and more about business and making money. Can you not hear WB saying to Boyd something along the lines of, “**** em all Darius, look after yourself first.”

They do need to be delivering, but being captain does involve more than just on field performances. There is a place for both at the club. Id rather see a different on field captain than Darius and just have Boyd in more of a club captain type role you see in Soccer where they look after the players issues and perform the ambasadorial roles off field.

Definitely, and he can do that while wearing chinos and a polo on game day.

That's probably true. I guess the victim mentality has been devalued recently, most of the professional victims these days are rich university kids with great parents. Being a victim is the hottest trend going.

Yeah it's definitely a ever growing trend to play the victim card , it's just hard to judge unless you really know the person who is playing it.

1. Were you present when this alleged blow up occurred?
2. Did it occur on a night out when people had been drinking?

Nope, wasnt there, but i know people that were and its not an alleged blow up, it did happen. I actually mentioned it to somebody on here about 3 or 4 months before it even got out into the press. There was drinking, but nobody was off their face drunk. There was a fair bit of tension in the whole evening though, another couple of the players were having a pop at Bird as well iirc.

Fair enough, you will understand though that I will give limited weight to a hearsay version of an event provided by one or more participants who had been drinking.

Was the version provided to you provided by someone who was actually there, or did they hear it from someone else who was there?

He was only signed for next year anyway, so he's definitely gone.

1 who was there and 2 that weren't, but all were Broncos players at that time. I dont think the drinking was anything major, no more than 2 or 3 drinks so i doubt it contributed to anything.

At the time mate, it was mainly a minor issue between Bird and a couple of others, which was a seperate issue to the Boyd/Parker one. Also keep in mind this was in about April 2018.
