This, a week or so ago there was talk Fifita was set to re-sign on a one year deal, if this is true the Broncos might be looking to clear out salary cap space before commiting them to bigger longterm deals.

Given that Chris Garry is the only journo I trust in terms of the Broncos as he seems to get genuine intel from them this is another LMAO at Badel. Monday he reports that Tesi had verbally agreed to terms with the Titans, 3 days later he has signed on to stay and was never interested in the Titans.

I wonder if Mal will ever stop making these bizarre claims publicly? It is like he genuinely believes that if he says it publicly the player will have no choice but do it so not to embarrass him.

This is how I imagine the 'verbally agreed to terms' came about.

Mal: "Hi Tesi, We want you to join us at the mighty Titans"
Tesi: "Oh hey Mal, look that is very flattering but at this stage I am going to stick with the Broncos and see what happens after that"
Mal: "What about if the Broncos fold?"
Tesi: "Well I would be looking at all my options there and would be happy to talk to the Titans and all clubs"
Mal: "What if every club folded except the Titans and one other club and if you didn't join the Titans all of your family would die for some reason?"
Tesi: "Sure, in that scenario I would join the Titans"

I'd imagine it's also associated with restrictions being in place for back ended contracts.

So we can't sign someone for 2021 and then have their salary jump up from 2022 onwards.
