Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

I believe Milf would be a hell of a player at the Roosters. Great forwards laying a good platform, good service, players who can run shapes and decoys and a coach who actually knows how to develop plans to use his players' best attributes? He'd be a gun.
Of course he'd be better at the Roosters where there are more good players around him to make his job eas
Regressing slowly under Bennett, while he was eventually bringing in these same juniors plus having Boyd/Roberts playing alright was far better than this bullshit. There’s no doubt in my mind that getting rid of him was the absolute wrong option because he was the best option at the time.

This place is a fucking circus. Not a week goes by without something dramatic happening. An injury, a player signing elsewhere, a fake father posting online, a porno. What’s next? This isn’t just a regular bad season that every team has. The comparisons to the Roosters cellar dwelling years are not apt because nobody has had a season (2) full of this shit. This is setting us back fucking years.

Tell the players if they want out they can go if the other team can pay their entire contract out. I’m over this.
We were attempting to get Bellamy, that's why we moved on Bennett. I think hardly anyone would argue that this was the correct decision at the time and that Bellamy was the best person available. If that was the motive for moving Bennett on, then I would have fully supported that.

To firstly totally botch the Bellamy signing should have been the first real warning sign that White and Lockyer and Co were probably not up to the job in the first place, but to then let it leak, then have Bennett get his nose out of joint, then persist with moving Bennett on anyway for the likes of Seibold, Walters, Demetriou or anyone really other than Bellamy, was just horrendous and really should have been terminal to their Administrative careers.

Siebs didnt start this erosion of culture, it had been coming for a while...he was like the match that ended up lighting the kindling

As i have mentioned , i have belief we have most of what we need already here.

The culture is one of losing; imagine then once it becomes a winning culture..

What id like to see is Dearden stay in the 7 for the rest of the season, we can accelerate our rebuild here if we can produce the majority of our spine in-house.

So yeh, seeing the above for mine would be a good start in that direction

Not sure the attempt to sign Bellamy was botched. More that he used us to get the best deal from Storm. He seems to be very happy in Melbourne family wise. On the other hand Smiths wife wants to move to Brisbane if rumours are correct. Moving fwd Smith should be our top target to replace Seibold.

It was botched the second it went public. The fact that they couldn't keep it behind closed doors tells you all you need to know about their competence. If it was Bellamy who leaked it, we should have ended negotiations then and there but instead we got strung along and made the brand look amateur and it was such a bad look for Bennett that the club simply had to go and make a new coaching appointment just to save face so we end up with a 5 year no clause contract for a rookie useless **** of a coach.

But goodness me, the club sure knows how to provide one-sided 'really strong' contracts.

The more I think about it, the more I don't mind the idea of Ikin as CEO.

He was giving it to Wayne tonight, he wasn't holding anything back because it's his father-in-law. That's what we need, someone who doesn't hold biases and isn't afraid to call people out.

I wonder if Ikin could repair burnt bridges as CEO and give Bennett a role at the club as head of culture and standards or something post coaching retirement. It would be huge as far as getting players in the team and happy.

Yeah, I wasn't too keen on Ikin because I don't think he has the necessary experience to be CEO but the more I think about it, the more I come around to the idea. We need his footy brain at CEO not a business brain.

**** Ben Ikin. He admitted to screwing the club over by knowing he was going to retire when we had let Scott Prince look elsewhere. He's on the shitlist with Josh Hoffman, David Fifita, Gordy & Ben Hannant IMO.

Prince took the Tigers offer despite Bennett saying he'd get a chance here. Brisbane wanted to keep Prince but he thought he was behind Lockyer and Ikin. Ikin then retired two weeks later when he couldn't train.
