Broncos Player Movements and Rumours 2014

Our future CEO reckons Canberra are throwing huge money at McGuire... Because forwards are definitely what they need most

Ricky Stuart would do it just for revenge.

Canberra could do with Moose.

Shillo is on shaky ground
White sucks
TLL is on the outer
Shannon Boyd isn't ready yet.

Leaving only Paul Vaughan and even so, Sticky has been toying with him as a backrow and has shifted Fensom to the fringes to compensate for the move.

No Bronco has ever gone to the Raiders and managed not to downright suck.

TLL, Fraser Anderson, Neville Costigan. Reece Robinson was better as a Raider than a Bronco but he still sucks hardcore. Shaun Berrigan did it years after but was never any good in Canberra. Think there was another forward who went there and sucked too, but he sucked so much I can't even remember his name.

If McGuire goes to Canberra he can look forward to playing for the Kiwis as he'll fall off a cliff in terms of being on the Origin radar.

Craig Frawley did too, didn't he?

Harsh on TLL.

Always had injury issues but had a underrated 2006 season and had a reasonable representative stint from 2009-2010 due to his efforts at the Raiders.

Replace Fraser Anderson (who actually went to the Sharks in 2007) and him with Darren Mapp & Steve Irwin.

Voila.

Sure did.

A marquee signing who spent more time on the sideline than he did on the field.

They couldn't wait to release him back up here. I remember him being a pretty handy depth player for us too, used to give me a heart-attack the way he'd carry the ball like he was SBW tho.

Kris Kahler or Darren Mapp is probably the player Ari is thinking of.

The funny story with Mapp is, after returning to Brisbane and being nothing more than a bench depth player, Cronulla thought it'd be a smart idea to sign him on a good deal to join them in 2006.

Think he only played a handful of games.

Maybe am being harsh on TLL but the raps he had on him with us were huge. Never came close to living up to them as a Raider and whilst he did have injury issues you can't really say he did a good thing joining Canberra. At least not in football terms.

If josh wants the money I don't blame him. But if he does leave I think he'll just end up being a bit of a nobody type player.

I understand Ari, and think it's a shame that TLL never lived up to his potential.

He's definitely shown some great signs especially in 2009-2010, I remember him being one of the few bright sparks for the Blues back then but Canberra probably wasn't the best career move for him.

Still, and maybe my memory is faulty but I don't remember too many Broncos fans being cut up about his departure. I could be wrong it seemed to be along the lines of "Well it's a shame but..." and I think the but had to do with his injuries as he may have had his issues up here.

We also had plenty of depth too to cover for him back then, but that's for another thread.

I think Irwin had a good career in front of him until Carney ruined it for him

Defamatory

Irwin was only signed for depth and some cover I would imagine as he only managed 4 games in Broncos colours. Carney didn't ruin it for him the Raiders did, they sacked Irwin because he was low profile and kept Carney who was their rising star. They sacked Carney the next year.

Carney was driving Irwin's car and got into a pursuit then ditched the car and left Irwin in the car like a stunned mullet. If Carney didn't ruin it for Irwin, he did a pretty good imitation.

Carlin Anderson linked to Broncos for next year.

He's having a great year first year of ISC at 18.

That's why you sack them instead of releasing them. I don't think you have to pay their wage if they are sacked.

Tigers are still paying Sheens. Titans paid for most of Prince last year.

Is he a genuine winger or someone who ends up in the forwards later on?

They weren't sacked though, they were replaced by a different person. If they get sacked for breach of contract the club doesn't pay anything. Or the Raiders would still be paying Ferguson.
