Broncos re-sign Mead for another season

Opacic probably is. But only just returned from injury..
Who else are you suggesting? Moses Pangai? Early reports seemed like he's only a second string centre. An inferior version of Moga
Kahu to centre? His lack of size next to Milford is a massive liability despite what he'd be able to provide us in attack.
One of the young'uns? Are they ready for 1st grade yet?

Kahu would be our best option ... Opacic next best ... just to start

And Opacic has only just returned from injury. Which I mentioned in the last 2 posts. Which you ignored...

Kahu would be a great centre in attack, but every team now knows to send a big body at milford's shoulder. Do you honestly believe Kahu would be able to stop that? Even with good technique, he lacks the size. Not to mention he tends to be more injury prone in that position..

Edit: I was originally keen on Kahu filling that centre spot at the start of the season, but it's completely obvious that having him there next to Milford will create far more problems than it could solve.

we are talking about better options that Moga here ... **** a one shouldered Opacic is a better option than Moga. and even though he has only just returned from injury he still shits all over Moga as an option.

size isn't everything ... Moga went up against a decent center last week and barely laid a hand on him. Kahu just needs some time in the position to get his timing right.

both options FAR superior to Moga.

Hell if all you want is a defensive center you could put Glenn there and he would do a better job than Moga (and he has had his worst start to the season yet).

Look man, I too think we should drop Moga, but you're exaggerating in your criticism of his performances.

Whether Kahu can fulfil the proper defensive load in that position is contentious - let's just agree to disagree on that point. I don't think we're going to see eye-to-eye, no matter how much longer we discuss this.

This was a perfect opportunity for Moga to dominate in attack - the Souffs centre was so fucking bad in defence, it was almost unbelievable. The only thing he can do is make metres.

I got outplayed by Bryson f... Goodwin, be nice!

No.

Goodwin made you his bitch. That's how bad it was.

But hopefully he can have a good game next time. I can't say I've ever seen him have two shockers like that in a row.

I can count on 2 hands the amount of shockers he's had in his career, there wont be another one,

i hope

You're still tops, @meady. Chin up, you'll have a good sit down with Benny, he'll push that doubt out of your mind, and we'll see you here an hour before kickoff for the regular.

The first catch Mead dropped and Souffs scored from was a bit of a rough call against him. The bunker said "all players are contesting the ball" but if you watch Jennings he is only watching Mead, jumps on Niko's back and jabs Mead in the ribs when he is just about to take the ball. He was not making any play at the bloody ball. That poor call would have put anyone in a bad head-space and unfortunately Mead really couldn't get out of the funk. The Rabbits targeted him after that and he lost his cool. Give him another go I say.

Mead isn't the first Broncos winger to have a bad game under the high ball. Oates has too, a number of times. So has Kahu.
Mead can be a tough winger, I've seen him put his body on the line a number of times in the past. It's why I like him.

@meady did have a shocker though. Like I said in the post game thread, I'm glad he was hooked. But I'm willing to give him more chances. Unlike Moga, he's had good games in FG in the past.

Exactly. Kahu had quite a few games to get the dropsies out of his system - he was dropping them for Wynnum then dropping them for Broncos the following week. Give Mead at least a few more games and training defensive structures with the Broncos and he'll come good.
