You could throw Flegs in there as well because although he doesn't always get it right, he is certainly on his way to being an intimidator, he smashed blokes.

we don't want to change his style too much, because i think he'll become less effective if we do that ... just need to lower that target area a few inches.

We've signed Delouise Hoeter on a train and trial contract for next year. Very good centre for Wynnum in Q Cup.

Yeh I think @Wolfie has consistently said he deserved a go.

I rate that so highly

If there isn’t a limit on train and trial deals I think the bronx should definitely be doing it in a way that you reward say 5 of the best performing q-cup players

They seemed to this year, they had to keep a spot for Kelly and KHunt but the rest of the players where standouts. Frei got injured but he's been great in cup.

Looking like DD is asserting himself more and more. This seems to be very much a "melbourne-like" ISC player signing. A good, mature, well rounded and well performing player who would be able to step up when needed without a too difficult adjustment period.

I'm very tempted to do an @upthebroncs style patting myself on the back style post with multiple quotings of when i've said we should sign this bloke.

I wont though, because thats pretty sad 😂

No limit it's just up to the ISC clubs to make suggestions and they use it as a carrot- come to us we will get you are pre-season at the Broncos. Problem can be if guys can't get time off work to do it. You pretty much need November to February off work.

That's how the Falcons got Hynes to the Coast from Mackay.

It's not that sad. The thickheads are world class at remembering the minutest details if one makes an error. Their recall at other times is found wanting though. You've pointed him out at least 5 times I can recall and probably more than that.

I'm tempted to do likewise re Dave Donaghy

He is the best hire this club has made in long time, and stories like the one with Barry Maranta yesterday, just reinforce how good he is at what he does.

Didnt that happen to Linc Port at one stage? Sure he could have gone down to the Storm at one point but couldnt get time off work to do it.

I missed the story with Barry Marranta, you got a link?

I missed the story with Barry Marranta, you got a link?

Following a snub from an anniversary dinner, inaugural chairman Maranta has been adrift from the club for more than a decade. As part of the culture rebuild, Donuts invited him and fellow foundation owner Steve Williams back to address the staff last week.

Maranta:

“It was a remarkable change in events to be invited back after I was not invited to the 30th anniversary, but I appreciated and enjoyed it."

“Dave invited us to talk the staff about the things which made the club successful which was important because it had suffered greatly in the past few years. We had some very lively discussions with the management staff."

“I guess you cannot build something unless you have a foundation and it helps to know what your foundation was and we had a good chat about that.’’

“They were surprised to learn that when we started local rugby league was the number four sport in Brisbane – there was rugby union and Christopher Skase got all the publicity for the Bears and Brian Kerle did such a fine job with the Brisbane Bullets basketball.’’

“The spirit of the club is audible and visible. Just meeting with the old boys there is a heart expectation about what the Broncos are about to achieve in 2022.’’

I’ll grab it .. in short, Donaghy reached out to Maranta recently and invited him to address broncos staff on how the club was built in the early years and what made the club so successful.

It’s terrific stuff from Donaghy, especially considering Maranta wasn’t invited to the club’s 30th anniversary a few years ago.
