I think it will be the 9 that gets changed a bit in 2022Well I guess a positive way to look at it, is that in 2022 it won’t be musical halves it will be musical half

Yeah but the back end of the season has suggested that so is Kelly. I’d be taking Kelly, Gamble, Mam and Walters at 7 if Reynolds gets injured, suspended or whatever. Just a waste of time for me. We aren’t in a player project phase for mine. Give us another season to sort out the cap and hopefully make the 8 before we start wasting a position or two on cheap hail Mary’s
I think the titans had to bring in fogarty because Taylor was not coping with the game management.I don't entirely disagree and signing Taylor is not a hill I'm going to fight or die on. All I am saying is that he is a more than decent back up half that is far more similar to Reynolds (an Aldi version if you will) than any of the other options. So given we are likely going to structure next year's attack around Reynolds and his kicking / management game, having a decent back up option who is similar AND CHEAP (this is the key point don't forget), then I think it is a good idea. I am happy for people to disagree, as I said I'm not going to try and convince anyone to agree because I just genuinely don't care that much if we sign him or not.

I know many thought that he just brought energy but I thought gamble was a pretty effective game manager. Whenever he played we looked much more organised/structured, followed a resemblance of a game plan, played the high percentage plays and took on the majority of kicking duties. It is overlooked because of the aggression he brings but he has quite a high footy IQ.
Yeah I think Gamble and Kelly are both fine as back up halfbacks if Reynolds gets injured.I think the titans had to bring in fogarty because Taylor was not coping with the game management.

Move on man.Not sure if it's been discussed much, but Kodi would be a good signing. He would work well with Reynolds, and has also shown to be a highly effective #14, and he will come very cheaply is another bonus.
Move on from a 27yr old player? Good chat.Move on man.
Mate he was previously with the club and was asked to play 14 and point blank refused. It was one of the main reasons we moved him on.Move on from a 27yr old player? Good chat.

Gamble was getting us around the park through the backend of the year... not really doing a whole lot, but still just getting us around the park.
Kelly also played a ton of halfback in ESL... I think his dip in form at the back end of this year was just coming in off his injury without qcup being there to give him some minutes... he looked far better when he came in straight off qcup earlier in the year.
Josh James kicking looked pretty assured on the weekend as well, so he may be a depth option at the back end of the year if injuries strike
Is there any evidence of him flat out refusing to play 14? Any coach with a spine would drop him and never to be seen again if this was the case. Or did he just move to a club where he could get a starting spot?Mate he was previously with the club and was asked to play 14 and point blank refused. It was one of the main reasons we moved him on.
Sorry if my comment seemed abrupt, but I'm loath to waste time on covering old, infertile ground.
I've noticed a lot of people on this forum get pretty offended when a player leaves for more money or better opportunity and just flat out refuse to think of them returning. It's quite petty.I've maintained that Kodi would be a great halves partner for Reynolds for the last few months. I don't think there's much debate that he's a better player than Gamble & Kelly.
If he came for a reasonable price, I'm all for it.

He wasn't playing first grade at the end of the season, behind guys like SOS and Townsend. Not exactly a strong bargaining chip.I don't think he will come that cheaply.
He will still command 350k plus and he is under contract as he took up his player option when his move to the Titans fell through. We won't get him cheaply unless Warriors chip in for 12 months, and it's not going to happen. He doesn't want to play as a 14 and I just don't see us having the cap to even make a move for him anyway. He wasn't playing first grade at the end of the season, behind guys like SOS and Townsend. If he wants 350+ then don't go after him. I'm not saying he is a priority signing, but he should absolutely be looked at if the price is right. He will still command 350k plus and he is under contract as he took up his player option when his move to the Titans fell through.
