So remind us again who'll be playing five-eighth in 2022. List them all.
FFS mate, there is 1 criteria for there not being a halves merry go round in 2022, and this is it......get ready coz it's mind blowing........
KW picks his preferred halves combo and sticks with it, barring injury. That's it.
A casual fan knowing who that will be 5 months prior to the season commencing isn't part of the criteria.
C'mon man, you're better than that.

He wasn't playing first grade at the end of the season, behind guys like SOS and Townsend. Not exactly a strong bargaining chip.
Probably the warriors way of trying to push him out... "you're not playing first grade so why dont you try and find a gig somewhere else"

I think it's been reported that he's on like $600k at the warriors.

They dont want to pay that and he ain't giving that up... I think he's definitely someone to keep an eye on through the year if we want to make a deal with the warriors... thinking his next contract will be significantly slashed

They are already getting Lodge half price, I'm sure they can afford some coin for Kodi to piss off.

If he wants 350+ then don't go after him. I'm not saying he is a priority signing, but he should absolutely be looked at if the price is right.

And if he wants to play in the halves in ISC instead of a #14 role in the NRL, then that would be a weird choice. Going off the end of the season, Warriors won't be picking him in first grade without injuries.

The price wont be right for us. He would improve our hooker position as Paix isnt ready, and Turpin and Levi ( if he even stays ) are bottom tier hookers in the NRL, but he isnt going to give up a good contract and Warriors wont subsidise him like we do with players we want out. Brown may not even be coaching there much longer if they dont improve so who knows where that could leave him.

Its more likely Kodi will just stay where he is and then move to the expansion club in 2023 if it goes ahead, if not then he will probably move to Super League. He's had good offers to go already but he wants to stay in the NRL.

Yep I think James and Mam have the potential to be our long-term halves, really excited about them but have to get the transition timing right. I'd say Mam mid-next year, James one or two games with perhaps bench time in 2023 and if ready, usurping Reynolds perhaps in 2024 at some point.
Completely agree with Ezra Mam but I think James has become a bit of a bust. We got other halves coming out of school that will drop James down the pecking order big time.

Hopefully it's Karmichael, he has been quite vocal about getting into coaching, loves the Broncos and is a pretty intelligent bloke.

Loves such so much that the fucked us around for months before going to the highest bidder.

Besides sounds like we want a defensive coach to give our young pack a harder edge ... Hunt isn't that

I've noticed a lot of people on this forum get pretty offended when a player leaves for more money or better opportunity and just flat out refuse to think of them returning. It's quite petty.

Post I quoted mentioned nothing about wanting a defensive coach, I believe it said assistant coach.

Very harsh to call James a bust, he’s only just started out.
I agree, its very harsh to write him off already. James is like 18/19 years old and has only had 3 isc games. Yes he has a tonne to work on and I dont think he is anywhere near ready yet (and may not be for several more years) but in his short time he has also shown improvement in both his involvement and direction and a pretty handy kicking game.

He looks promising, good kicking game and looks like he has that Milf floating bomb too. Looks like he manages the game well too.

Badel reckons Staggs has gone cold on five-eighth - at least for now - with Gamble and Kelly fighting it out to partner Reynolds.

Also the Broncos aren't interested in Kikau.

And Ben Ikin had this to say about Hetherington:

“Kobe reminds me a lot of Jake Trbojevic. I see it in his defensive technique. Like Jake, Kobe has a classic hit-and-drive technique. When Kobe hits, you stay hit and like Jake he has the capacity to play before the line or in the line."

“I love watching Kobe play. He is adaptable, he can play in the middle or dummy half, he has a passing game, skill, brains and he can play as tough as any forward if required. If Kobe is half as committed and driven as his old man (Jason Hetherington), he will go places. From what I have seen so far, he has all those traits, he is setting himself up for a very solid NRL career.”

Thank God we arent interested in Kikau, I personally think he's one of the most overrated players.
I think we've only just scratched the surface with Kobe, I read somewhere he played in the halves abit in his juniors (could be completely wrong) but feel as though he's got a massive ceiling and a player that will really kick on next season.

Be interesting to see how Kelly will go with a proper preseason under his belt alot fitter and trimmed down. Be a good battle with him and Gamble for the 6 both bring something different to the table.
And I'd have Herbie playing outside of Staggs at this stage those 2 could form a lethal combo on that side.

I recall people discussing about Marty Taupau when it was reported that he is free to leave, just to bring it back, do you think we might have a play for him. I think him and Hass will be amazing together. Just my thoughts
