Not sure we can say that Coates offers the same attacking abilities as Staggs just yet.
Staggs can score from anywhere on the field... I've yet to see Coates do that outside of an intercept try.
Tesi on the other hand showed a decent attacking display in the 2 trial games from right center and could be viable moving forward.
He loves the tough runs, breaks tackles and showed some speed to score from 30m or so out. If he can get his defence up to speed then we may have a ready made replacement already there

I wouldn’t pay more than 500k for a centre. 600k if we genuinely see him transitioning into the spine.
Staggs at centre is worth a lot to a team who need individual brilliance to win games. However if the club has a strong plan to build a team around a solid spine then I’d be happy to let Staggs go and use the cash on the spine. If we lose Staggs I would bring Oppa in and keep developing Niu (budget Staggs).
1. Walsh (400-450)
2. Farnworth (300-350k)
3. Opacic (250-300k)
4. Niu (300k)
5. Coates (350-400k)
Find an actual marque half at 6 or 7 and put Dearden in which ever number is free.

Jennings was on decent coin, up around 600k inclusive. That squad is pretty tight group, i cant see Fergo leaving unless its for far better money.

I think you can go $650k on Staggs because he has the potential to be a half or at least a makeshift half if there was an injury.

If Fergo doesn't perform this season i can see Parra walking away from him and at his age/decline he could go somewhere on the cheap. His 2020 season was underwhelming in a team that performed generally well and Arthur will be under some pressure to make changes and Fergo will be on the chopping block before the likes of Moses and Gutho.

I think Fergo's 2020 was underwhelming purely from a try output perspective, but I think his workrate was generally still there... although probably not as effective as usual.
I put the try drought down to having Waqa Blake playing inside of him.

Yes. Mead did absolutely everything he could to scream that he wasn’t first grade standard at the moment in the trial.

Absolutely! Of course on a heavily subsidised deal but yeah, we need experience in the team, as much as we can get to stop having to debut unready kids for the Roosters.

He's far better than both our current options. Dearden isn't ready and I don't rate Croft much at all.
