We’ve basically had one major recruitment plan for the last decade and that is to recruit Bellamy / Smith...Turpin has PO in his option for 22. After his performance last night and IF it can continue, i dont think its Worth chasing Smith? Walsh would be 20yro by 22 comes around as well with approx 40 ISC games under his belt. Food for thought over Gatorade.
Coates, Mead, Arthars and Niu are also yet to lock up for 22. Count Staggs in that as he's free to negotiate with PO for 22. Thats our whole backline up for negotiation. Quite scary if we get it wrong chasing someone else not in the pool.
I doubt either want him to go anywhere. He already could have but didn’t...23 is a mutual option.

I think we need to keep signings to the minimum until our spine is sorted. Don't see the point in signing second rowers or centres unless we have our spine fixed. And realistically we're talking 4 players there at the moment. Gold Coast would be a case in point. Despite all their signings, does anyone think they will be legitimate contenders with Fogarty, Taylor and Mitch Rein? I sure don't.
I get that we need quality just about everywhere, but unless you have class where it counts, it just won't work. Capewell is a good player, but I think he would be less effective in our team because of the difference in quality of our halves/hookers.
Personally I think chasing him will be as successful as us chasing Cameron Smith, when we had two cracks at signing him when he was without a contract and he didn’t want to sign either time...Only if Smith played on but he didn't.

My opinion, we throw the bank at Brandon Smith. We need a top qualityHas an option for 23Even though he is contracted til the Storm until the end of 2023? Wait another 3 full seasons?
Brandon Smith should be the number 1 target at the moment. Turpin is good but I think Smith is on another level. I just have a feeling he will end up at the roosters.
On another note, how old is Cobbo? I’d love to see him on the wing next to Herbie!

Karl Lawton has just been granted a release to join another club. No mention of who it is. He is out with an achilles injury until mid-late season though. Anyone heard who the club might be? We have atleast 1 roster spot available and need a hooker/utility which is why this has made me curious.
Lol because an injured hooker not due to return till August will help flip a 46-4 scoreline. They were talking about Manly signing him on ABC sport yesterday

Maybe they want someone to keep Turbo company in the rehab group
Ah ok thanks. Asside from his injury he would be a good utility for us. Hes quick out of dummy half and has spent plenty of time at centre and back row. I think hes played a bit of 6 and 1 in his early days if i remember correctly but he has bulked up a bit since. They were talking about Manly signing him on ABC sport yesterday
