anyone got a summary of that Courier Fail article outlining why Sam Walker left us?
From what I gather it's the same story 1910 relayed about two years ago.anyone got a summary of that Courier Fail article outlining why Sam Walker left us?
Honestly that's pretty bloody embarrassing. I don't know how whoever is responsible for that didn't get sacked on the spot. It's not that I think Sam is the second coming or somesuch, but to have a kid in your backyard and just act so carelessly is a sign that people just aren't taking their job seriously. From what I gather it's the same story 1910 relayed about two years ago.
Brisbane organised an uber for Sam Walker without his parents knowledge to sort out his NRL contract.
Meanwhile Sydney flew him and his parents down and rolled out the red carpet.
As somebody who watched both coming through, I don't think the comparison is that absurd. They were both work-a-holic middle forwards known for their second phase play who excelled at an early age. Arrow was a better defender and he could put on shots more readily. However I don't recall him ever enjoying the purple patch of form Carrigan displayed in the back-end of 2017.
The comparison is actually something I've been thinking about lately. I remember a lot of the same posters on here were keen to write Arrow off at a young age for a lot of the same reasons as Carrigan. He wasn't a flashy tackle-breaking forward so fans saw nothing in him until the Broncos started struggling and now they want him back in the team.
As I pointed out the other week, his form dropped off in the back end of 2020. However it's nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe on here and a lot of is just to spite you. Since you joke around and talk him up as the second coming, fans on here grossly over-exaggerate their criticisms to have a pop at you for whatever reason.
That's not to dismiss every single criticism. There's some finer points of his game that he needs to fix up but you'd expect that of a 23 year old forward. Right now he's the least of the Broncos problems.
Most of the time of a majority of people don’t get your joke or sarcasm it is on the person delivering it.I must admit, and i'm saying this as somebody who has know Jai for a long time, he's always had a different game to Carrigan imo. He's always been had a more expansive game than Pat. I do agree with you they have similar traits in some ways, but one clearly has a game suited better to Lock, and one clearly has a game suited better to prop.
I find it hilarious tbh people take me seriously about Carrigan. I'd be in real trouble if i took it seriously. I like him, think he is going to be a very good player, but i do agree some people get carried away because of my tongue in cheek comments, and i do think some people still have it in their heads we released Arrow to keep Pat, which was never the case.

Classic case of what looks good in a good team ends up being mud with the shitkickers. For those that didn’t notice, in dodged bullet news: Allen has already been shifted from fullback to the wing.
For all Isaako’s flaws he has been vastly outperforming Allen.
Granted I didn't watch all their NYC games, But I don't recall Arrow being a ball-player or anything of the sort. I just remember him and Ofahengaue working in tandem with Berrell to get the sets rolling. Kodi would usually call for it on the right where he'd try and go himself or kick and hope. If Brisbane were lucky, Berrell would go left and give it to Taylor who would either throw a money pass to Drew or put in some of the best grubber kicks of any half in both NRL and NYC action. I'd be there wondering why Brisbane seemingly played Berrell or Nikorima ball and rarely Taylor ball since his strike rate was impeccable but that's life.I must admit, and i'm saying this as somebody who has know Jai for a long time, he's always had a different game to Carrigan imo. Anyways, I just remember Arrow being exactly like he is. A good battering ram who could lay on the odd bell-ringer but not really a ball-player. That seems more like Pangai who only played a few games but Brisbane's gameplan seemed to solely be give him the ball and when they could be bothered give Su'A the ball as well.
think it was a case of anyone will do. same with the corey allan talk. What happened to the Kurt Mann talk?

Both braileys are good little players with good footy brains but i dont think you would be able to coax them from their current clubs who hold them in high regard.Jayden Brailey anyone? Seems like a handy little hooker who wouldn't cost too much.
It hurts watching Walker play well for the Roosters when he was ours and our management's incompetence and unwarranted arrogance caused him to slip through our fingers. He looks good and I feel like this is one we will regret for 10+ years.Honestly that's pretty bloody embarrassing. I don't know how whoever is responsible for that didn't get sacked on the spot.
