He hasnt signed a contract, if he leavesm who cares? if he doesnt want to invest here, the see ya! Cowboys certainly will never be long term better than Broncos. He wants succees he stays. His manager would also be abruptly aware that he hasnt set the world on fire, virtually no Sydney clubs would be signing him except someones local in QLD and maybe mad dog Maguire. Dearden learns his trade, if hes not happy here - sayonara!

Genuine question. What makes him high maintanance? It has been shown here that he is not injury prone nor is he being 'managed' in his training workload.

I guess we'll find out who's telling the truth, but it wouldn't be the biggest revolution that he's on a modified training schedule. As others have pointed out, he has a tendency to go down like Matai who was playing through a nerve injury so it's just something you've got to manage with a halfback who wants to keep playing until he's 34.

He is too young at the moment, maybe that upside will start when he's 22/23 like Grant.
Right now throwing him out there to 40-50 point blowouts is damaging his confidence. Honestly, he's a passenger with a weak boot out there - a reason we got the spoon last year and we want to repeat that...why?!

Maybe we're not interested. although the Cowboys reportedly pulled out of the race because he is on a modified training program due to an injury he suffered in 2019.

If that's the case, it would be an extremely risky move signing him as a medical retirement down the track won't be an option for any new contract

Were you watching last year, Croft played 14 games last year and played in each of the 3 solitary wins and had 11 losses then got dropped altogether.

Boy wonder finished the year at halfback for 12 games with zero wins, cannot say that as 'barely playing'.
