Kevvies constantly maintained publicly that Dearden is the future of this club

Although saying (or at least implying) that he need time to develop properly... which is not a bad thing IMO
Plays him in ISC to “develop” for a single week before playing him off the bench for 9mins in nrl and then the next week starting him last minute against Melbourne. Kevvie doesn’t know what he wants, by his own admission, fair enough that Dearden holds off on committing to the club until he has some certainty about his position.

And Dearden is within his rights to go elsewhere if he’s being jerked around.
He is not being jerked around, he is a rookie NRL player who should feel lucky to get a start.
He has proved nothing, done nothing to assure him a spot, and is in fact the one jerking the club around by flying to NQLD to tour their facilities while under contract with the Broncos.

I would be hesitant to do anything with him till he commits to the club as well, i dont blame Kevvie one bit.

I have not read this, what type of injuries?
This has been proved to be incorrect. He isn't being managed which has been confirmed from multiple players that he trains all the time and you can also see he hasn't missed many games in the last 3 years. This was leaked to the media by Souths to lower his appeal to other clubs.

Kevvie is well within his rights to question Deardens ability as he has not yet proven a thing.
Well, why isnt he doing the same line of questioning on Staggs apparent belief he is the next Lauire Daley?

Like; exactly "what" ability has Staggs shown? If you want to play the game in the halves then sure, give him enough rope to hang himself in the halves before it becomes blindingly obvious he is a centre; at least then we have a right centre locked up for a few years.

Titans are playing this well; drive up his price. Leak to the emdia they want him at 5/8th...then sit back and watch the reaction.

And they got it.

Our direct competitiors in the bottom half of the table are doing their damnest to see us destroy our cap space come 2022 off season by biting on every rumour put out there about "our" players...

We then have less leverage to offer top mney for the best players from the rest.

Its quite ingenious, something DD propbably is across, not the useless melts we currently have here...

We play chequers, the rest play chess...

Knowing what I know now about his managed training due to previous injuries, I wouldn't touch Reynolds, we'd be stuck with him and would be unable to even medically retire him)
Is it as bad as being reported? Benji said on NRL 360 last night he has only missed 4 games in the past few years and his injury record is being overblown.

Don’t know why everyone is getting their nickers in a knot over Dearden.
I don’t think anything has been down with the cowgirls. There is no doubt they want him, but I don’t think he will leave + he has stated he wants to stay.
If he was leaving I’d be fairly confident he wouldn’t be in the 17, let alone starting for this week and last.
Add to that the fact that the Broncos are yet to table Dearden an offer, he is probably fielding offers from the Cows, as at this point that is his only option for 2022+.
Until Brisbane table him something, he isn’t going to reject the cows. The knights are also trying to get Clifford now due to their injuries so the cows (keeping in mind they haven’t had an answer from Dearden) are posing the question if he would go there now, which then would allow for Clifford to leave.

Unless anyone knows any different, I don’t think Dearden wants to leave.
Happy to be corrected if I’m wrong @Smokin' Joe @1910 @Wolfie ?

I’m pretty over Dearden tbh and would be happy for him to go at this stage. I like him but he has done nothing to deserve all this attention and bullshit.

Also, we are clearly getting lied to. He goes up there to tour the facilities and we are told it ‘is a favour to his manager’ which is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Next he hasn’t signed with them but they are asking about an early release?!! The club might be idiots but don’t treat the fans like they are.

I wish i could see in Dearden what others can see. I think so far he looks a dime a dozen young half that probably 14 of the 16 clubs could run out to similar effect. Would Paix have even done worse with the same opportunities Dearden has had?

I get he has not had a good team to really dominate for him to show his flamboyant side but he has had a lot of games now and nothing really stands out as being above average. I remember a game last year, might have been the Sharks, when the result was tight and he didn't put his body on the line attacking the loose ball and cost us a chance of the win. Maybe that has negatively tainted my bias on him.

I still hope he stays on a realistic contract with us and can develop into the player we hope he can be but if he goes to the Cows, who are in worse shape than us atm, i won't lose any sleep.

Everything right now is up in the air. Currently Morgan has to meet with a specialist in Brisbane to see if he can medically retire. That will free up $1,000,000 which will just about nab any player on the free market for the Cowboys. Adam Reynolds was favoured but it appears they've gone cold on him because of how high maintenance he is. That doesn't leave a lot and Tom Dearden is a very sensible fit so if they offer him overs it'll make life difficult.

His preference is to stay but like Fifita money talks.

He's a good talent, he's just been terribly managed since joining the NRL squad. Compare his introduction into first grade vs. Sam Walker, night and day.

So lemme get this right - Bris allegedly releases Walsh under the premise Turner is coming. Walsh goes and we don’t have Turner and Nathan Brown does a media session today saying how he wants to keep both and it’s important Walsh gets time with Roger before he goes?

what reality show is this pls

In Dearden's defense, he's yet to play in a good nrl team. Roosters would've comfortably won that game without a halfback.

Edit: That was exactly your point, my bad.

Really wouldnt have a clue mate tbh. He is obviously exploring his options though as he has already talked to the Cowboys and toured their facilities.

I'm not necessarily saying that because Walker played his part, but if Dearden was brought in the same way he'd be travelling a lot better.

As it happened, Dearden had a huge 2018 where he starred in Mal Meninga Cup and Schoolboys Footy. He then toured England with the Australian Schoolboys and as a result he had a limited pre-season. He was 'eased' into QCup which was fine but within weeks he finds himself on a plane to Sydney to take on one of the best teams in the competition against Souths. Brisbane get 38 put on them and that wasn't because of Tom. The team was just a shambles and for whatever reason the coach decided to skip O'Sullivan and Dargan who were next in line.

Meanwhile Walker had two full pre-seasons to prepare for his debut. When he was brought in, Robinson did a wonderful job of protecting him. Tedesco, Manu and Hutchinson stepped up which allowed Walker to focus on his pet plays. He also appeared to have clear instructions where he could roam but if he didn't see any space just to turn it in.

I think the media is getting carried away with Walker. He's clearly raw in some aspects, but Robinson did a wonderful job of looking after him and accentuating his positives. Meanwhile Tommy was just thrown into the wolves.

He hasnt been the only younger player thrown to the Wolves either. Thanks to Mr Fraudbold.

Genuine question. What makes him high maintanance? It has been shown here that he is not injury prone nor is he being 'managed' in his training workload.
Does he have off field issues?

It would be pretty simple to show up to Redfern and verify.

Nathan Brown has no chance of Walsh getting time under RTS if he doesn’t play ball
