I wouldn't be upset about this at all, IF I wasn't incredibly cynical about who the club has lined up to replace him. With our R&R teams history, they probably do intend to replace Dearden with Billy Walters, and if it's Kev pushing for that, then I think I will be just about done with him.

Surely he is not looking at the Cleary's and thinking "Yeah my son and I can pull that off". If he is, he has the nepotism goggles on for his sons footy ability and will completely forfeit the goodwill that Broncos supporters have granted him as an old boy of the club. He has his head up his ass if he is somehow comparing Billy to Nathan.

best case scenario is we've let Dearden go because 1. he hasn't lit the world on fire anyway and 2. we are in the closing stages of wrapping Reynolds up to partner Staggs.

I know that it is in a melbounre team but gee it would be nice to have a fullback that can pass, and someone in the spine that can throw a cut out pass.

Also in that game, walsh played. In defence was at fullback but appeared to be playing as the left side half in attack. He got 2 try assists.

And what would Hynes cost per season? $400k-$500k?
We had one of those. Reece Walsh. He signed a 1.2M deal for 3 years and we couldn't match it so he walked.

I don’t think so. He’d likely be happy for a first grade spot because he’s stuck behind Paps at Melbourne. His ceiling is well below Walsh’s but he’s 24 years old and has been developing his craft for years against men, while learning in the Storm system.

I would’ve preferred we held onto Walsh but we have a team full of young inexperienced potential. Hynes is a reasonably cheap option for a reliable older guy with runs on the bored.

Walsh should've been given the #1 spot from round 1. We were grooming him for years and he Should've been given the warm and fuzzies and made to feel important.
But we are where we are now. Bottom 4 spine and no depth. We need to be acquiring some top talent soon. Even the Dogs have a great outlook with Fox and Burton. What are we doing?
