It feels harsh, but I'll be hoping he fails. I never usually think that about Broncos players who leave, and its definitely not because I'm angry at him leaving (I'm more upset at the Broncos). Its because I want at least some kind of evidence that the Broncos recruitment isn't as pathetic as I currently think it is and maybe they WERE actually right for once.

There has got to be a plan that they are confident of pulling off, otherwise we are going to be left holding our dick next year.

Well, this is going to get very interesting. I don’t think he has shown enough for this to worry me. We already lost Dave and Walsh, Dearden barely registers after the heartbreak of those 2.

I don’t understand why Kev goes out of his way to make these big comments in the media only for it to be wrong. Doesn’t make sense.

I think so tbh. My impression was always that Dearden has been close to leaving all season and Staggs to titans was almost a sure thing too. I think Smokin Joe mistakenly thought we would still care at this point but if Dearden or Staggs leaving is the worst it gets than I’ll consider us pretty lucky. Though of course, if we don’t sign any replacements we are in pretty deep water.

I guess it depends if he's already signed, even though it says verbally there. Likely in the 10 day cooling off period I'd say. Can a club pull the offer in that time or only the player?

Also, I imagine he'll be released to them in the next 2 weeks and we'll get nothing back as per usual.

I know that it is in a melbounre team but gee it would be nice to have a fullback that can pass, and someone in the spine that can throw a cut out pass.

Also in that game, walsh played. In defence was at fullback but appeared to be playing as the left side half in attack. He got 2 try assists.

It's just a bad look for the club, especially since they can't announce signings right away to counter-balance it.

In the 'good days' clubs would announce the marquee signing first and then you'd get the fallout after. For example when there was an exodus in 2008 the Broncos could point to the signing of Israel Folau as something to keep the fans spirits up.
