Well that confirms it. The squids in the office have completely fucked the cap and Kevvie sounds like he barely has any say over who stays or goes.Nothing in it.
Walters:
“We don’t have any space for anyone right now in the salary cap, so what we have on our roster is what we have. I speak to Will a couple of times a year through our associations in Melbourne (where Walters was an assistant coach) and with the Queensland Origin team. We have a committee that make decisions on recruitment ... Will is over in Japan playing rugby, that’s about all I know.”
“Joe (Ofahengaue) will be staying at the Broncos. As far as I know, he is with us, I will be expecting him to report to training on November 23. I have no problem whatsoever with Joe. He has played in a grand final and I chose him in the Origin team last year, so there is still upside in Joe and I want to get him playing the football I know he is capable of."
“At this stage Matt Lodge is in the same boat as Joe.”
Renouf:
“I don’t think the Broncos need someone like Will Chambers. Will had a great career but we need to look forward, we have enough young talent coming through in the outside backs. Kotoni is arguably the best centre in the game and while he will miss the start of the season with injury, he will be back and I’d like to see ‘Kevvie’ stick with Herbie Farnworth in the centres.”

Seems to me that Kevvie was brought in to appease the fans and supporters. He has been set up to fail and Kevvie being Kevvie will take it on the chin.I hope Kevvie doesn't become the scapegoat if next years results are not much better.
Yeah....that's what worries me.Seems to me that Kevvie was brought in to appease the fans and supporters. He has been set up to fail and Kevvie being Kevvie will take it on the chin.
Very creative! Are you a roosters cap manager by chance?Cameron Smith with no registered contract until next year so that can pay him off the books outside the cap and then bring him into the 30 the morning of first team list day. Saves about 4 months of of cap space.
I hope kevie is just playing his cards close to his chest. How the crap don't we have cap space? We've cleared 1Mill of cap at least between Boyd, Kahu, Fifita and made zero recuitment.
Emphasis on some we will keep haas and Staggs thanksChambers, Gagai, Sua, Allan...............................fark it...............clean out some of the kiwi's and NSWers , lets bring all the Qlders home.
Doesn't confirm it at all. Unless Kevvie was lying to everyone earlier when he said changes would happen.Well that confirms it. The squids in the office have completely fucked the cap and Kevvie sounds like he barely has any say over who stays or goes.
well done
edit: keep in mind this was his response to being asked about Will fucking Chambers, 32 year old centre who hasn’t played in the NRL in over a year. He wasn’t asked if he was going to try and fit James Tedesco under the cap. We don’t have the space to bring anyone in, not even a depth centre - after moving on Boyd, Kahu, and Bird, and losing Fifita.
Nothing in it.
