Is there a start date for 2021?

march 11.

only one trial will be permitted.

a second can be played against ISC/NSW cup opposition and only players who played less than 12 games in 2020 can be involved

All those things could definitely be right, but they are based on nothing of any substance. At least the more pessimistic outlook has form to back it up.

shithouse way to live though.

try the glass is half full way ... you'll be happier and might even be pleasantly surprised come 2021

I’m a realist. Even though I post relentlessly, outside of a 80 minutes on a weekend during the season the broncos don’t really have an impact on my overall cheery disposition

After reading this thread it really makes sense to hide the fact that you have a 'war chest' or cash to splash. Keep pushing the we're close to cap narrative is really the smart play, even if it's not true. **** I think Kevvie may be more switched on than anyone gives him credit for.

I question how much of Birds contract we are still paying. I also suspect that a big part of Fifita’s offer was to come from Macca’s contact which fucked us by returning. Yes, this would be extremely idiotic.

Also we re-signed Niu and Farnworth post-Fifita and will need to upgrade a few players.

Very easily could have used up any spare cash.

How do you know we were planning on having Bird stay? The club apparently was desperately trying to move on TPJ, Bird, and Offa.

Its a pretty big chunk of his contract from what i heard. Dont know how true it is, but around that $400-450k mark.

I dont see an issue with Chambers if its a low, one year deal.

I don't like the idea that we're downplaying how much money we have free in the cap, just so we don't pay overs with new signings or re-signings. I'd much prefer that even if a player/player manager knows we have millions of free cap space, we tell them how much we think they're worth, and if they are looking for way more just tell them to get lost.
A strong stance now would set the precedent and you'd end up with only players that actually want to play for the Bronco's. Not a bunch of mercenaries. And besides we can't always cry poor in negotiations. Time to put on our big pants!!

this is not something unique to us ... every club does it.

it's incredible the amount of times a club cries poor ... only to sign a superstar, 10 mins later

I was against the will chambers signing, went and looked up some videos of him to see if maybe he could bring something to us.... then I found the Paul gallen drug cheat sledge, PAY HIM WHAT HE WANTS

But is that really a credible stance? From what's been said here before most of the players are controlled by a few agents. And I'm guessing these guys talk to each other. So really it wouldn't take much for an agent to know roughly how much a club has spare before it enters into negotiations.

Well his contract was a pretty fucking big chunk to begin with

As long as stuff is getting done in the background, i am happy for the club and kevie to keep their cards close to their chest and mouths closed.

There have been too many leaks from the club of recent times which have gone on to hurt the club.

Which recent form would suggest nothing is going on at the club, there is no money to play around with due to cap mismanagement. I hope this is a new age and suddenly the club has remembered how to do things quietly but again recent form suggests otherwise.
