I still think Gagai would be a great signing. He has experience and a polished game that none of our backs have. It will obviously depend on amount and length to determine if it’s a good value buy or not but on the surface I think it brings a lot to our teams balance.Reynolds says he failed to convince Su'a to follow him to Brisbane (phew), but remains optimistic about Gagai:
“He’s obviously a very good player at every level of the game, and he’d be a great asset to any team. I worked hard on Su’a following me to Brisbane but he was one that got away, but I’d love to have Dane up there. He’s a great friend of mine, a great teammate and our families get along well together.
“He’s played for them before and knows what it is all about. He’d be a bonus. He’ll never get beaten on attitude - he never takes a backward step and competes to the death.”
Reynolds ‘still hopeful’ but fears he won’t get to farewell Souths fans due to relocation
South Sydney skipper Adan Reynolds hopes COVID does not deny him a hometown farewell as he continues to hound Dane Gagai to join him at the Broncos next year.www.smh.com.au
If we let Oates walk at the end of his contract it would basically cover Gagai’s contract in the second year
Glad we didn’t get Sua though.
On a side note, I’ve never seen a big signing show so much involvement in their new club before moving. Giving his jersey to the young bronco fan, discussing tactics with Kev, watching our games on iPad while on the sidelines, trying to work on recruitment. It definitely gives the impression he isn’t coming to the broncos with one eye on retirement.
