I should be upset it sounds like we missed out on him but I just don't feel it. I'm kinda happy we aren't paying overs for him if I'm honest.

A quality 1, 6, 7, 9 helps make less quality players, play better.

If we can invest more into the spine we can get more out of the backs we have and have already signed.

Of course, quality spine players are very scarce by the sounds of it for 2022 but I'm still kind of happy we aren't shilling out for an ageing centre. Just imo of course, completely understand the experience he could have brought.

We just need to move farnworth out of there and get a solid defensive centre who can also pass the ball. I think Gagai would have cost too much. Hopefully we get someone experienced and relatively cheap to do the job.

Will Chambers is an option. I haven't seen his Cronulla form and he can be a grub but maybe he can do a job there. Watson would be a good pick up but I feel he is looking for more money and a guaranteed start. Hetherington seems to be doing a good job too.

I’d be stoked if we got Watson. Maybe Staggs right centre and Lee left centre is the play, with Oates, Cobbo, Farnsworth and Isaako (if he doesn’t leave) fighting it out for the wing spots.

I’d be open to trying to get Hammer, but I think if the players actually off contract for next year that Watson would add the most to our team.

Watson is good at lock but that's just because he's a great player. I'd much rather see him in the spine.

I personally wouldn't sign him though.

I would cop another mediocre year next year if it meant we could land a B.Smith/Grant and a Hammer/Manu the year after. I'd be signing one of those two options each November 1 this year.
