Can't really say that for sure unless you put them in opposite teams and systems , Can't compare that roosters team and organization to the broncos.

Yeah kid can play , but so can Dearden. He just hasn't been given the tools or team to help him.

I’m not saying Dearden is better or will be better, I’m saying he has been thrown to the wolves.

He has, but I’m betting walker handles it better, call it a hunch. My personal eye test when I watch a player. Just my opinion and mine only.

But I’m also not disagreeing with what you’re saying, the situations are definitely different. But not entirely, you see walker has come in third string to a team expecting to make top 4, yes their system is better but the pressure is definitely still there.

I haven’t seen walker play yet, what’s his kicking like? Because dearden has yet to find grass with his kicks although his kicking action looks pretty smooth.

Dunno... I've seen Dearden throw nicer passes. He had a 30m bullet pass last year that got Milf or someone outside his defenders and set up a try. I think on Thursday he threw a decent ball back in field to Coates who almost scored.

Walker's passes were those rainbow style passes that showcased his vision, but he also has players and systems around him creating the opportunities. The players and systems around Dearden have been shithouse and therefore he's had minimal opportunities to show off whether he even has vision to complete passes like Walker did.

The roosters forwards and outside backs were humming along creating quick play the balls and providing options when Walker had the ball... Dearden doesnt get that

Good call, I too remember those thanks for the memory jolt. For what it’s worth I think dearden will play well this week. He seemed to come out of his shell a little the other night.

The 30m bullet from my previous post is 2:42 seconds into the below... I was trying to hunt down which game it occurred in after I posted and literally searched "Dearden pass" across the forum and found it pretty quickly haha

Well he tried and then went back in and missed a bunch of tackles, having him, niu and Riki together is not ideal defensively. I’m just really stuck on dearden, just talking defence here but is it the system or is it him that struggles? Milford doesn’t actually make bad defensive reads he just lacks conviction/effort web but comes to making the tackle. Does anyone know what he was like growing up?

I was just going through old highlight videos on youtube looking for the 30m pass, and Dearden was actually very good vs sharks and rabbits in rd 12 and rd 13 last year.

I recall it was about mid-late last year that the bulk of the forum considered Dearden the future of the team and the primary issue with last year was that he was having to do it on his own!!

vs sharks in rd 12 Milf was on one leg (can see the strapping around his hammy at that point)
vs rabbits in rd 13 he had SOS (so basically at that point Croft had fallen off a cliff, Milf had injured his hammy... pretty sure SOS shit the bed or got injured as well)

It was literally a kid carrying the whole team and getting zero help from the rest of his spine or even the rest of his team. Pretty sure Fifita had already signed with titans and checked out as well.

Brisbane earned a goal line drop out and Dearden made a mistake, Sharks just piled on the points after that.
