Updated depth with the Gamble news... dunno who we're recruiting for depth next year, but I hope we have a plan

For our sake I hate it. Personally I love Tyson and I think he has been one of the most important players in our turnaround as such I love the fact he can go somewhere where he can further his career in the NRL cause he deserves it.

For the club's sake letting Tyson go is not a smart move, hes probably the only guy I have confidence in leading the team around if Reynolds goes down injured for a long period.
He should be in the 17 every week because he adds alot to the team but we don't have a 9 who can go 80 so we've got to carry one on the bench.
Kelly and Roberts aren't signed for next season and are on their last legs.. so if we loose Tyson who are we getting?
I hate that we are letting tyson go, and can't help to think we may regret it.

We rebuilt this year on recruiting/using mature players (gamble, tmm, hosking, brenko, periera, hoeter) and now we are letting many of them go again and relying on younger players (Which led to our issues in the first place).

We needed a 7 with a decent kicking game and voice of authority if Reynolds goes down. Gamble provided that (and I dont think mam or Billy could).

If gamble goes we are short on quality halve depth. It could almost be worth getting clifford at bargain price. He has had an unhappy time at the knights, but there is still a good player underneath who could flourish under reynolds as they have similar attributes.

Every time we think our list management has corrected itself, they make some absolutely baffling decisions

Morons

We better have something fucking unbelievable guaranteed after the decisions we are making lately. Our depth was a strength this year but we are fucking kidding ourselves if we think we will be able to do that forever

it sucks losing Gamble. he was the perfect depth player for us, and a really likable bloke.

but this club has never stood in the way of a player seeking a better opportunity elsewhere.

Gamble deserves that opportunity. he will get limited games playing behind Mam and Reynolds

We are looking fucked to be honest.

No Gamble, Kelly, Martin or Turpin. Leaves us looking short in the halves and also at hooker given Billy and Paix can't play 80 so need a utility/hooker on the bench.

I guess this means that next year when reynolds or maam are injured, walsh probably goes into the halves with Cobbo/Tesi going to fullback? Yuck.

We miss the 8 next year. We had a better win rate with Gamble than we do with Reynolds at 7.

Completely agree with you.
Gamble has qualities you just can't teach as we've seen previously when we had Milford, Croft, Deardon and the likes trying to lead the team around.
Mam potentially might be a great player in the future but he is still so green ATM and is a long way off being the guy to lead us round the park if Adam went down.

Clifford may be a option to bring in with some help from Adam he could be a good option moving forward but that's no certainty.

We need to keep these mature guys in our squad or replace with like for like we can't rely on these young guys if we want to be a good strong club moving forward.

Given the belting we got last night, if Raiders win tomorrow I think our season is over and we miss the 8. Can't see us beating Parra or Dragons.

Yeah, but we are allowed to replace those players with other players.

We'd be close to 2020 standard with a spine of Niu/Walsh/Mam/Walters

Hopefully they have some money free and another signing planned, this bargain basement spine doesn't work

Their plan is probably to give all the money to Haas. Useless plodder.

I don't think its any coincidence that some of our biggest issues are NSW players. Just never sits right paying big money for NSW players as the Broncos. Look at 95% of the broncos "legends" and they are queenslanders. Now, in our team, our 3 highest paid players are all NSW (Haas, Reynolds, Staggs).

Gamble is not our first pick five-eighth or halfback. Handy player and a great back up but that’s it and good on the broncos for doing what is best for Gamble…..even if it’s the knights

Our spine depth for next year is not as bad as everyone is saying

Fullback: Walsh, Niu (ew), farnworth, Cobbo
Halves: Reynolds, Mam, Olopau, Walters and I bet another young gun will come in, I’m excited who they may pick up
Hooker: Paix, Walters, Mozer

Lets not forget beginning of this season players like Mam and Martin weren’t even on the radar for this season, players can come out of no where

I don't necessarily think the issue is about depth it's about experience.

We built this year's roster on experience, especially in the depth (Reynolds, Capewell, TMM, Pereira, Brenko, James, Gamble, Kelly, Roberts, Jensen, etc.).

The depth you have proposed are all completely inexperienced and is almost like we're trying to go with a 2020 approach again.

To be fair to Ikin though, a lot of his depth signings happened pretty late last year and were mostly guys on the fringe of squads, so there is time to find these players again. The issue is that dolphins are looking to flesh out a squad as well.

Olopau and Mozer are children. Walters was atrocious in the halves. That leaves exactly zero halves who can fill in for Reynolds without tanking the team, and we don't even have one decent hooker before we get to needing a backup. If we aren't already dick in the market for a hooker and a half there's already 2023 shit on the fan.
