Every time you name a team, I find myself thanking God you don't have anything to do with selecting our team

This is proving to be very true at the momentMore just a super relaxed kinda bloke. No aspirations within the game because he's achieved his dream. This is already huge for him. Has a bit of the Andrew Walkers about him in the sense that he could just head home if he can't be bothered.
The more I learn about our team the more I think having no friends in it says something really positive about you.Selwyns podcast has provided the reasoning why Herbie has no friends In the team.. the team was woken at 2am on the army camp and had to do a 15 min drill but the drill turned into 3 hours because Herbie kept back chatting the Sargents
Lot of chat about second row and
in particular Riki.
I'm not looking for flair from the second row. Just consistency and smart footy ala Liam Martin, Hudson Young even Wade Graham.
Just someone who can run a line, be a good decoy or feed to ball to Staggs/Walsh - hell maybe a cut out to Cobbo.
Shortlisted for comment of the year. And we're only two weeks in.The more I learn about our team the more I think having no friends in it says something really positive about you.
No Billy. Hooray. Staggs to second row. Hmm. Everything else by numbers. Interesting left field mind experiment - I like it - but obviously no chance of it ever happening.Round 1.. I'd go...
1. Walsh
2. Oates
3. Farnworth
4. Mariner / Hoeter / Arthars
5. Cobbo / Pereira
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Haas
9. Smoothy
10. Flegler
11. Capewell
12. Staggs
13. Carrigan
________________
14. Paix
15. Riki
16. Jensen
17. Willison
18. Bayliss
19. Piakura
Happy to drop Riki from the bench for Bayliss or Piakura
I wanna keep Mariner long term but would be happy if Hoeter slotted in short term.. and I want Staggs to focus more on his running game and involvement. Hence that move.
I think Smoothy is probably our best bet at 9 to start the year, just is the most complete player we have in the hooker position..

And what's your issue with it? Most of the line up picks itself. I only switched Riki to bench prop and Staggs to backrow. Smoothy is definitely the best option to start round 1 at 9 but that doesn't mean he will. I'm not sure what else you could have a problem withEvery time you name a team, I find myself thanking God you don't have anything to do with selecting our team
what the heck. that sounds badSelwyns podcast has provided the reasoning why Herbie has no friends In the team.. the team was woken at 2am on the army camp and had to do a 15 min drill but the drill turned into 3 hours because Herbie kept back chatting the Sargents
Oh yeah definitely no chance of it happening.. Unless we desperately want to keep Mariner. Maybe Herbie leaves to play fullback elsewhere and Mariner gets a start there in the centres next year.. Not sure.No Billy. Hooray. Staggs to second row. Hmm. Everything else by numbers. Interesting left field mind experiment - I like it - but obviously no chance of it ever happening.
Given we have such a glut of centres and dearth of dummy halves, in my mind experiment I have Kotoni coming off the bench to relieve the not-Billy at hooker (pick anyone else). Herbie to switch sides. And Mariner to come in. He is exactly what we need, hands on every ball, injected into the attack close to the line. Again, will never happen. But he would thrive in that role.
I don't think kicking to Cobbo was a slight on Staggs and Riki. It's a classic Broncos' play. Classic rugby league play, I guess.Oh yeah definitely no chance of it happening.. I just can't watch another year of that same right edge bombing opportunities. Reynolds and Cobbo were the only ones being productive there. Pretty sure Reynolds started kicking it to Cobbo and doing cut out balls just to bypass Riki and Staggs
I was thinking the same thing for that right edge but I was trying to make it work with what we currently already have.Lot of chat about second row and

Bringing Staggs off the bench for impact would kill a lot of birds, get all our stars on the field. Maybe not the best use of the cap, though.Ideally Herbie stays and becomes a mainstay at centre and is able to fill in at FB when required. He's done the hard yards to get where he is, I'd hate to see another club benefit from all that hard work and development. Most of it has been off his own back but without a spot in our team none of it would have been possible so I'm sure DD and Ikin will be working furiously to keep him in the fold.
I was watching fairly closely, it became more of a go to without hesitation once Riki and Staggs proved to Reynolds they were liabilities. Reynolds tried giving Staggs lots of ball early in the season and realised Staggs couldn't get it to Cobbo.I don't think kicking to Cobbo was a slight on Staggs and Riki.
