Simpkin may be an option if he agitated for a release. He is currently behind api and would be competing with liddle, Brown and Ngatikaura as the back-up. Madden has played a fair whack of nsw cup with him and could have a word.

I know simpkin and paix are pretty young and we have mozer coming through but mozer is still a couple years away and by the time he is ready for regular first grade we could decide what back-up hooker to keep.

My only concern would be that all our hooking options would be young, but if ballin is still amongst the staff, he could help mentor them.

Liddle has gone to the Dragons I’m pretty sure. Not saying it makes it easier for Simpkin either way, but just saying

No not at all. We have two very capable 9’s and in fairness they proved that all year. But we don’t need capable we need a mixture of reliable and game changing (to an extent). We have capable options that should be depth and in Billy’s case deserves to be a depth option (for those trying to boot him). But we do not need another just capable 9 make it worthwhile or just don’t fucken waste our time fucken us around with this bullshit. Would much rather have a clear and concise pre-season of Billy and Paix than fart ass around for a full off-season looking for a capable 9. Look I am well aware we aren’t gonna snag a superstar but if it is gonna be another Billy or Paix level player why bother for the sake of it to just not be Billy. Capable is a no for me.

Different perspectives here simply. To me, Capable 9’s in my view are-
Grant, Api, Cook, Mahoney, Sharks Brailey & Robson( a total surprise this year).
Rest of 9’s at remaining clubs are just playing @9 & NOT “capable” 9’s. Unfortunately, we had 3 of them this season. Hence, my hope that we get a ‘capable’ 9 next season.

Robson has been playing like he has this year ever since he got to the Cowboys. People havent noticed because they have been poor.

Like I said before I'll be very surprised if we don't sign another player in that role, Turpin was supposed to be our first choice but he declined in the last few seasons and with him gone to just have Mozer take his role in the squad is being Naive.

Just don't expect one of the elite Hookers that's all, all the best teams in the competition have really good Hookers, except Roosters but that changes next year with Smith, it's definitely a key ingredient.

Possibly but they don’t usually do that with signings. He did also only sign like less than 48 hours ago.

We could trade them Billy? There’s a few options around that we should be able to get. Hopefully Ikin is working on it but we’ll see come round 1 I guess

that's my point he may be gettable because with the arrival Koraisau, he moves back to third string.

Fa'amanu Brown started the majority of the season for them, Simpkins seamed to find his way onto the bench around mid season. although he did start the last 2 games with Brown moving into lock.
