Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

Doesn't Gould like to spend his clubs money.

Maybe we should have set the figure higher ... I'm surprised anyone would pay that for an unproven school boy

Would take a pretty impressive apprenticeship by Mam to give me confidence that he could be an organising halfback. That would be the ideal outcome though.

As long as we don’t Milford him in the process
I feel like Mam showed more at half back last year than Walker has to date, and Walker is being talked up like he’s the next immortal (Walker is an extremely good second fiddle to an organising half, no doubt). Mam has the vision, he just need experience.

Is that observation based on two games against the Knights and Titans?

I am really not sure that is enough of a sample to judge. Walker spent basically an entire season at halfback in 2021 and was quite decent there. You are being very generous.

Would love to know how all of this actually works?
The Oloapu situation?

The Bulldogs and Broncos settle on an amount that's paid outside the cap. The Broncos release Oloapu.

The Bulldogs then sign a new deal with Oloapu and his new manager Adamson.

500k to the broncos is pretty small fry if it’s outside the cap, it doesn’t really benefit them.

this whole situation stinks of tampering and nrl has done sweet **** all.

Everybody else knows how this goes now right? Kid goes onto win anything and everything and become an immortal.

4 year deal according to nrl.com

Wonder if he'll try to get out if he isn't handed a starting position on a silver platter

Who knows if they even settled on that amount? $500,000 was the starting offer, that could have been negotiated down.

Still, Brisbane recoup their cost and prevented the Dolphins from signing him. It was probably the best outcome of a bad situation.

Why are we trying to make Walsh out to be a 6?
He should be viewed as a long term fullback option

He's not a six. Hes a fullback.
Good riddance.
My thoughts exactly. Sad for us because he looks like he's going to be a star, but i'd rather just get rid of these grubs who want to play games with us. Wouldnt be surprised if he suddenly becomes homesick and ends up back at Redcliffe anyway.

Who the **** would take the risk on him after the way he and his agent behaved with us? I mean the Dogs aren't THAT desperate surely.

Regardless I hope he blows both his ACL's in a trial match. What a ****.

Broncos should have stood strong and not released him.

Releasing him has just shown everyone that The Broncos will cave. Setting a really bad standard here.

Kinda pissed off tbh.
