Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

I'll be curious to see whether Oloapu is named in the NRL squad for '23. It could work out the Bulldogs have negotiated a deal with a better back-end and just by making it a new deal, Adamson was happy to sign off on it.

Keep in mind, Gus brought Adamson over to Penrith when he was a rookie - they go back a long way.

All in all, the Broncos are still down a star junior and with the way they operate they can't afford to 'miss' on the few U/19s they have on the cap.

They're hemorrhaging a lot of talent and eventually, it's going to take a toll.
Do you think we'll end up keeping Herbie but losing Mariner?

Who the **** would take the risk on him after the way he and his agent behaved with us? I mean the Dogs aren't THAT desperate surely.

Regardless I hope he blows both his ACL's in a trial match. What a ****.
I'd like to think we opened some kind of useful backchannel with Gould that might pay off later on, like the one we seem to have with the Warriors.

It's an obvious thing to say at this point I understand but.......**** me DEAD the Dolphins are getting off to a piss poor start. The Bennett gambit has utterly failed them.

At least he didn’t go to The.

I still don’t think we should have released him and I am sure this precedent will work against us and who cares how much is paid if it doesn’t come off the cap.

If anyone deserved a career ending injury or scandal before making their debut it’s this guy.

We agreed to a release to bulldogs for $500k. Bulldogs have agreed to release him to dolphins for $600k… honestly nothing would surprise me. Our head office still sucks.

I personally would have preferred a player swap instead of the cash (even an unprecedented amount that this was)

But glad it's over with now ... one less distraction and one less thing for the media to focus on

That's the way it's shaping up unless Mariner impresses and finds himself on the wing.

Even so, Mariner is suited to the right side of the field, so his future at Red Hill is dependent on Kotoni Staggs & Selwyn Cobbo. If the Broncos persist with that arrangement, Deine will be as good as gone. The only other scenario I see is Kotoni Staggs being shifted to five eighth or into the backrow to make way for Deine, but who knows if he's even capable of such a long term move.

Staggs needs to replace his dick fingers with real fingers if he wants to stay in the team. Not sure what it is but our right edge with Riki, Staggs and Cobbo, but Jesus they can drop a ball or two. Staggs must have bombed at least half a dozen tries last year, with 3 or 4 of them being over the try line

I got the impression the problem was more with low percentage passes not finding the hands, and squeezing Selwyn over the sideline, than poor handling. I have/had a theory that Selwyn falls apart on a wet track but I don't know how well it stands up to scrutiny.

I guess we'll get to see him during Origin, if Selwyn gets selected again. And at least two of the trials.

The club think very highly of Mariner and have for a while now, I would be surprised if they don’t find a way to get him in the side somewhere.

Am I right in saying that Adamson played under Gould and it's fairly easy to then make the connection as to what went on there.

Not happy Jan.

Right just read on and saw Big Pete had already mentioned this.
