Pretty ridiculous and made up; Karl was tremendous playing for Queensland last year and at lock too- he outplayed Katoa when they played NSW and even though Gray was Queensland captain, he didn't make the Australian side and Karl leaped over him to be Australian co-captain.

I think Gray was hard done by not to make the Australian team but you couldn't argue with the team they picked.

Even in the MM semifinal the last time they played against each other Gray and Mozer had to construct the greatest set-in schoolboy football to get the Magpies home by two in the last 30 seconds.

Now they've both left the Broncos, would they have let Gray go if they knew Karl was going? That's the bigger question- now don't have either.

In my opinion Katoa is clearly a far better player who has proven he can make the step to the next level and still be a star. A good schoolboy state carnival doesn’t compete with winning Penrith u18’s, u21’s, a reserve grade elimination final on debut and playing for Tonga in the World Cup. Plus on top of that he made all the same schoolboy rep sides as Karl whilst also cementing himself as the best union schoolboy in the country as well. Only thing Karl has on him was the state carnival match up which you referenced and the Aus schools captaincy.

Obviously, Gray is a bit more up for debate and obviously Karl will never have the same defensive questions asked of him as Jye will. But there accomplishments at such a size indifference for mine speaks volumes at a level where any sort of size and strength dominated. Jye is all class and wreaks arguably more havoc with a far smaller frame. Karl for mine whilst silky will have to work really hard and sharpen nearly every facet of his game by a lot to reach the heights he supposedly is so destined to.

I just am not of the opinion that physical specimens such as Karl can be considered with such high esteem about the inevitability on their success later in life. Seen far too many players not make that jump who have had the same physical blessings that make them look far better cause they are doing it against inexperienced and inadequate defences.

Karl no doubt is a great player against school boys and that’s all he has played till now so he can go out there and prove me wrong, but it’s my opinion. After all I’m not standing here trying to claim it’s factual unlike yourself. This is my opinion. I am not going to preach the thoughts and opinions of you if that’s not what I believe in or think. You can have your opinion and I will have mine but don’t come at me or anyone saying an opinion is incorrect cause you don’t agree with it.

My opinion is that Karl Oloapu will not be a good enough player against grown Men. You can think it’s crazy or disagree but next time instead of saying something that so obviously isn’t that crazy is made up you can just say I disagree followed by the exact same points you presented. I’d much rather that way than you dismissing an opinion as factually incorrect because your inferiority complex on the juniors and reserve grade area means you dismiss any notion you don’t agree with because people listen to you. Your knowledge is unrivalled on these areas but that doesn’t make other people’s differing opinions worthless or incorrect to the ongoing conversation on the kid. Love most of what you say but you do this A LOT.

I think it’s refreshing he has gotten to where he is now on intellect but I can’t say he deserves anymore reason why he would be more successful than Karl. End of the day Blake choked it up in u19’s origin less than 12 months ago when he was in great form against boys. I didn’t see much of cup but it really didn’t seem like he was physically ready and Magpies were so shit he didn’t have a platform to do anything 40-0 down every game with 20 minutes. I hope he is everything he seemed in schoolboy footy but I have seen to many of these superstars fail to say I can do anymore than hope.

The club will have a pretty good idea of where Mozer's at: he's been training with the main squad, opposing and linking with Reynolds, for over a year now. Plus his junior coach, Karmichael Hunt, will now be coaching him in the QCup.
