...it does make sense someone like Flegs would appeal...Manlys front row depth is very thin. I still contend though there is a price point with him where you're better off letting him leave.that Manly figure for Flegs, was reported way before Seibs had anything to do with Manly

I keep going back to it, but considering Staggs is signed long term, I just don’t see how we keep both him & Herbie. Cobbo will be looking to move to the centres next year and Mariner will be looking for a starting spot. Ideally we would not have got into a bidding war for Staggs, but we were weak at the time. If Staggs form doesn’t pick up we might have to make a call and shop him around.I truly hope we keep both flegs and Herbie. I've been a herbie fan for a long time (helps I'm also a futurama fan). I loathed flegs for a while because he was constantly making errors or being penalised, but he seems to be more consistent now and controls the aggression a bit more.
I would be hesitant in flogging staggs off to get Mariner on the field. We have learnt when we lack experience it hurts us.
Staggs is hitting a good point of experience and as long as he performs adequately he may bring other bonuses to the table.
Exactly right. He could just deviate and the opposition will at a bare minimum think about it.This
One big bonus that Staggs brings to the table is that the opposition know how dangerous he is, so him just being there opens up more space for Cobbo
This is a big year for him though...I would be hesitant in flogging staggs off to get Mariner on the field. We have learnt when we lack experience it hurts us.

I want him to stay too...for the right money.I'm his biggest fan but I agree, though that said, he brings something none of our other young props bring - aggression and intimidation factor. Patty is definitely getting there with this too but Payne just doesn't have that yet, being a big pillow basically. The issue though, is that Willison hasn't kicked on as hoped due to a million injuries and Robati most likely won't be at the club much longer. Bayliss-Brow seems a plodder at best and as highly as Te Kura is rated, and goodness me his potential seems boundless, he is way too raw and way too young to be a regular front rower. Fleggs offers a LOT but certainly not million dollar a year lot. Then again though, neither does Haas frankly. And how likely is Haas to be here after his contract finishes given his previous shenanigans and moron manager?
Especially if Jensen can be held onto on a low wage. Willison, Te Kura. All good teams have a base that they build their pack around and then squeeze value out of youth or value buys.We arent keeping Flegler, Carrigan and Haas. Lets face it, Haas will want over a million, Flegler is probably looking at $800k and will have a deal at Manly for that amount and Carrigan is worth more than the pair of those so we are going to have to give him a massive upgrade on his $450k a year deal. With His performances and development he's going to be in the million a year bracket if Payne is. We cant carry probably the best part of 3 million of our cap on prop's.
I'd happily ditch Flegler if it meant keeping Herbie, Carrigan and Haas. Flegler always reminded me a bit too much of Lodge in the way that he plays. We arent keeping Flegler, Carrigan and Haas. Love this. I am a huge fan of his no fuss, grunt work.jensen 2 year extension just announced
