They let Lodge walk away from $800k contract or whatever it was at the warriors and go to the Roosters on a development deal.
I'm fairly confident when the are relocating (different states / cities) they have a lot of leniency.
Yeah the warriors paid it out, but then the NRL allowed him to sign on a deal worth peanuts.Lodge got every cent of that 800k

I really don't think that's how it works when the player requests the release. It's definitely how it works when a club moves someone on, but if the player decides to move on and walk away from the contract, If they get less then that's on them.and if Hunt get's paid some of his salary by the Dragons ... that would reduce how much us or the Titans have to pay for the remainder of his contract.
but you can bet your bottom dollar the Dragons won't pay a cent, meaning that us / the Titans will have to take on the full salary. they way it has always been and will continue to be

This article saying we will pay a transfer fee. Wouldn't be wanting to pay much of a transfer fee if we are only getting him for the rest of the year. Would want Titans paying majority of it if its true they are signing him for 24/25
I agree, just saying the titans should need to front some of it.Transfer fee sounds good to me if it's outside the cap. We should be using our financial might at any opportunity.
